Jet Li can't act. One can hope he's finally got a clue.

He can act, but only in Chinese movies =p
Its his last Wushu movie, hes set to do The Rogue with the guy from Transporter/Crank and after that a movie with Jackie Chan.

Go to the NYTimes website (login required to see the full article) and search for the story in the Sep. 17 Arts section, titled "Exit Kicking: Jet Li’s Martial Arts Swan Song." (Warning: the story is only in the free archive for about one more week.)

IMDB is your friend. (http://imdb.com/name/nm0001472/)

So far its speculation as what kind of film the Jackie Chan/Jet Li film will be until they announce something. Its either a kids film or something by zhang yimou (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/news/comments/?entryid=230819)
Or it might be directed by Peter Jackson. (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/news/comments/?entryid=353845)

I hated it.. really poor story and as usual Jet Li acting is soooo bad. He's such a wannabe Jackie Chan just with even worser acting if there is such a thing.

supposedly the american version is less bloodly and the story/message muddled. i dont think it was that bloody, i dont know why they cut it up. can anyone confirm?

I don't know if it's less bloody in the american version but the film was originally 150 min long and they cut it down to 105 min so I'm pretty sure that extra 45 min would make the story/message better defined. Perhaps a special edition DVD some day? :p

I have seen the Chinese version but not the American version. Its ok. Not his best.

The story is a bit weak.

The action didn't need the wire stunts. They should leave that stuff for the 80s and 90s Hong Kong movies and the Matrix.

i think i heard they cut out the cultural parts, the parts they figured the mainlanders wouldnt get. having not seen the american one, im only guessing.

the dvd is available for sale (the chinese release one). you can even pick up a copy locally at toys n joys or that one in the chinese cultural plaza. the american one will probably be better quality howerver. was the american on subbed or dubbed?

I saw the Chinese version. I thought it was OK. I can't imagine the Us version would be any different. Hopefully they didn't dub it, i hate when they dub foreign movies it almost never feels right.
