Actual scene from the bar last night...
I hate it when stupid drunk chicks take so long in the freaking bathroom because a) they're sick and puking, b) they're having a hard time maneuvering themselves in there to take care of business because they're DRUNK, or c) they're TALKING STORY.
And I'm always "THAT GIRL" in line yelling things at them that could potentially get my arse kicked, but hey...someone's gotta do it!

Today alone, I had three people coming into the store asking for a replacement because they dropped their phones. Since I started working, I had 12 people come in and ask that same question.
I don't know if its the phones, or the contract-less plans, but they better take care of their phones. (oh, and I had to apologize that we don't do replacements - just sale them)
It looks like today is "I don't care day" here at Fort Street. I was rudely while I was with a customer by a local guy asking about a mobi phone. I told the rude guy to wait, and before I know it, he just came up between me and the first customer and literally pulled me away to ask me a phone question. I told the first customer to wait and I promptly answered the rude customer's question (aka told him BS to shoo him away). He rambled on about his life, and when I turned back to check on the first customer, he walked away. Luckily this happened at the front of the store, where no money or products could be swiped away.

When I go into a grocery store or any other place for that matter and the person that is working is coughing, sneezing, sounding all congested, full blown sick yet still working with customers! The reason it irritates me is cause now I'm sick because she was blowing her sickness my way. Why can't people when they are obvioulsy too sick too be in public just stay home instead of going to work and getting everybody else sick!

Because nobody plans on getting sick and most employers require 24-hour advanced notice if you are sick, and who in the world can forcast when they're gonna be sick the next day!
And when you come in to let your boss know you're too sick, they're more concerned with body counts and will tell you to shrug it off and get to work.
That's why you have sick people working in retail or food establishments because their bosses are making them work. And that pisses me off too!

That's been a tactic I've seen at Home Depot here in Hilo. A customer will distract you and another will shoplift. It's amazing what shoplifters can get away with these days.
But don't fall for that trick Adrian, if you suspect a customer is trying desperatly to get your attention, put the other items away and keep an eye on both customers. They may be working as a team. They do it all the time at the swap meets. A group swarms in and overwhelms you and suddenly you find yourself missing a few items.

I'LL NEVER BUY CDs FROM WALMART!
I've been through 10 discs so far, and my computer (through various programs) are reading them as "full", so I can't burn an ISO! If I didn't have my 4gb portable hard drive, then I'd better not drive anytime soon.
Oh, and even though thumb drives became small for our convenience, THEIR TOO SMALL! I think I lost my 512mb thumb drive (second time I did that).
EDIT: I found it in the same place as I lost it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v81/adri1456/smilies/awcrap.gif
(maybe I should take anger classes or something - or make my newly found age to drink.)

Because sometimes they can't afford to. Many of the wonderful low-paying jobs that put Hawaii in the oh-so-enviable position of the State with the Lowest Unemployment Rate in the Nation don't provide paid sick leave.
Losing a day's pay can mean the difference between feeding the kids and sending them to bed hungry for many here.
So, employees drag themselves into work sneezing, coughing, and dripping on the customers.
But the kids eat! :)

I get pissed off at voters who keep re-electing perverts like Foley. I get pissed off at our local politicians sniping at each other instead of doing their jobs.
and I get pissed off everytime I think about how stupid it was for Eddie De Bartolo to get involved in gambling & crooked politicians so that he had to sell off his sports teams. So, I have to agree with Mike - I do get pissed off when the Niners lose.

I registered for an english class a while back,
the english teacher gives work on top of work, & it leaves me to become a hermit at my own home with my English work always trying to catch up, & all it does to me is gives me more stress.
The more I try the more we are given work to do. I can't handle all that stress, & it's not all about the "welcome to college" crap!!.
We should be given leeway & time to do the work & not given an expiration date which would be due the next day!!. The work & the teacher doesn't let me have any fun at all anymore!!.
I feel like I am in a small bathroom with 100 people standing all around me that I can't breathe, & I can't get out!!.
Lately I have become depressed, sad, & angry within myself. When I have realized it, the more I want to enjoy life again!.
I feel that it is NOT worth the hassle, anguish, stress that I am put through just so that I have to finish the English work!.
It is not fair!!. So, I will be quitting soon, perhaps maybe this Tuesday or Thursday, not sure which day, yet.
You ask me "what pisses me off"??? It's that english class that I registered for!!. The sooner I quit, the sooner I can become happier with my life again!!.
If I quit, it will just become an "incomplete", & I am not given an 'F' grade for. Thank goodness. I am quiting early, that's the good reasons for that.
If I would have waited longer, then, I probably would have gotten an 'F'.
Halelua for being able to quit early & not be given an F on my record!!.

English is a requirement....What level are you taking?
You will be very limited in your selection of Higher Level classes until you do meet minimum English proficiency which is based upon completion of those classes.
You will eventually have to take it again and this time I recommend possibly asking for assistance from the teacher from Day 1.
Either that or pay Scrivener to write your papers....(just kidding)
Good luck with the rest of your classes.

Serenity, why'd you sign up for the English class anyway? Is it a requirement for a program of study or an elective? One thing I used to do whenever I took one of those dreaded "required" classes in which I had no interest, I'd just grit my teeth and plow through it, knowing that the end of the quarter/semester would come soon enough and then I'd never have to worry about that course (or the teacher) again, and in those classes, I always managed to get at least a C grade. And if it's a requirement for you, you'll still have to take it sometime anyway, won't you?

Hey!!. Scrivener, how much can I pay you to do my english work & pass?? :p
Can you wait, when I finally get financial assistance?. :p
Manoa, I will probably take it again when I am ready.
What we are doing is, trying to do a chapter on our english work, finish 61 questions from 4 chapter of the book that we raed called "blue skin of the sea", (which has 11 chapter technically) we wave to write on one of the chapter as a reaction papers etc..
I think that was all due Thursday's english class, & I skipped it & didn't bother going, due to the stress I received!!.
Hm,....
I might try to do some kind of work, even though I will be quiting anyway, just so that to make it look like I actually did something.
Manoa, you are right about one thing, perhaps I should have sought help, but I didn't or didn't think of it, perhaps because the work that was given us, especially on a Tuesday, which was due Thursday, & I just didn'y have time to go back to school on wednesday to get help when it is due on Thursday, you know?.
Thanks any way.
Aloha. =)

Well...
I am taking up non credit sign language which didn't require any other classes such as english, but...
once I finish all the way up to the last class of my ASL, then I was thinking of taking up an english class just so that like you, to get it out of the way.
What I should have done is, wait until I was done with all my non credit ASL, then concentrate on the english by itself, but I didin't.
By me taking up a credit ASL (american sign language), it is required of me to take up an english credit, that's the reasons being that I took it, which I am regreting now, that I didn't wait when I was ready to take it.
Yes, I can probably take it again. Perhaps Then I will be able to concentrate more on the subject than having two.
I guess it'a been a long time since I actually went to college to persue something like that.
a couple of years ago I had gone to HCC, just to take it, I barely passed the english there too. Atleast I had a credit from it.
I may be hard on myself, but, I think since I have left high school long time ago ( I think in 1987), it has really been difficult for me to get back in the groove with english class, math etc. It probably would have been better to take it right after high school, which I didn't due to a longer personal story which I wont get into right now.
Thanks for the reply back, though. :)

No hilahila! I went to grad school after 10 years of being away from academia. Then I waited another 20 years before I went back and got a Project Manager's certificate at night (now I have to take a PMP licensing exam). The thing that really really helps when you've been away from the books for a long time is to study with a bunch of people. That way, the odds will be good that you excel in something that the others don't and vice versa, so you all end up doing better. Plus misery loves company, right?;)

How about idiotic people who don't have any consideration for others!!.
I live next door to another apartment, & sometimes those people that lives there would either talk really loud or watch tv really loud past 10:PM (perhaps 11 Pm or 12 midnight or so)!!.
I had to call upon the manager of the place to make a complaint several times already!!.
I would think that they are adult enough to realize & have consideration for others, apperantly not!!.
I'm just glad that other house with a loud chirping bird so early in the mnorning; that the bird died, & they never replaced it. LOL. =p
What other things that pisses me off is, the fact that the cost of living is going sky high, I.E. Cost of other apartments, which it makes it more difficult for people to move out & into a new place!!.
What happened to the good old days anymore?? =(

Believe it or not Adrian to some hooking up a computer can be very intimidating.
I have a projection TV set that is coupled to a home theater receiver that is tied to six speakers, a dvd player, a satellite box, a VCR, a wireless transmitter to transmit anything going to the TV set to another room, a receiver that receives my computer's XP Media Center 2005 media, and a host of other inputs from PS2's to PSP's, to various outputs to send to wireless and wired speakers and video monitors spread throughout the house.
Even for a certified AV specialist that can be daunting. But for a novice that can be pretty intimidating.
My computer has all the standard stuff hooked up (printer, USB hub ext hard drive, ext dvd rom drive) but the hook up can get difficult when you consider the DV inputs, DVI out to my second monitor and the MCE remote. Thank God for USB connections.
Back in the early 80's to configure a printer to a computer was agonizing! Setting up dip switches on the mobo. One wrong setting and your mobo is fried. All connections was done on an RS232 25-pin connection. You had to designate either null or not, SND and RCV was on pins 2 and 3 respectively then you had your DSR, DST and other communication signals configured properly as well as the handshake and parity check settings.
Most older people who used computers back then still are a bit traumatized by all that ancient going's on. So when they see a computer and it has to be moved, well it brings back some pretty bad images.
But if there's anything more than a power plug and an antenna connection, it can be intimidating for a few people out there.
Now Adrian, imagine me telling you to relocate the differential valve from the right side of the MSA-30-10 propane metering system to another location. I might add that there are a crapload of stainless steel tubes that sense differential pressure between the pump and the metering system and the dispensing hose plus another set of tubes that are used for bypass and remote sensing. Basically a ton of hoses and pipes hooked into this monster.
For me it's a piece of cake but to someone who doesn't know crap about LPG metering systems, it can be like defusing an atomic bomb that's ticking away, because one wrong disconnect and that white vapor you see all around you isn't a propane vapor cloud enveloping you, it's the entrance to them pearly gates with St. Peter greeting you.
So instead of getting pissed off at this gesture they ask of you, think of it as they are relying on an expert to do something they feel inadequate at doing themselves and they trust your aptitude.
Or they're just too fuckin lazy to do it themselves:eek: :D

Adrian...Craig's right. When you get this type of irksome request one idea might be to have the person with you when you disconnect. At that point, label each end of each cable (I use sticky, rectanglar labels) with a corresponding mark on each port. Once the equipment is moved, ask your "student" to reconnect everything under your watchful eye. Success breeds confidence. If they reconnect successfully and you leave the labels attached they'll have the confidence to go it alone the next time. I've owned a computer for 16 years and I still don't know what I'm supposed to know from what I don't need to know!
I don't need to label anything for my computer set-up because it's so simple but I do need to do that with my TV and all of it's components. It works like a charm! ;)

Thanks so much for the reply, but I think the only way out is to quit the class. If I could transfer to a different class, I probably would.
Since it is already to late to do so in switching class, I only have one option left.
Thanks for replying back, great advice, & the help aswell. :)
If you are still around & not so busy, next time around, if I am having difficult time in a class, perhaps in an an english class again or what ever, I'll consider your offer. :)
Thanks so much again.

One evening while working part time at Home Depot, I was on the floor for over 6-hours without a break and can of Mountain Dew under the belt ready to explode.
As I was gingerly making my way back from the middle of the store to the restroom a gentleman asked me to cut his wood molding for him. Typically for molding we offer a cutting station with a saw and a miter box as molding is sold by the lineal foot (linear foot whatever). We cut the larger kinds of wood so it can fit in a person's vehicle on a table or panel saw.
I told the man if he could wait just two minutes because I really had to go. But he was insistant and I figured he'd get all pissy if I did the typical Home Depot thing and pass him on to a shadowy associate lurking around the next aisle.
So I cut his wood and let him go with a smile. Bladder at critical level I made it WHEW what a relief. Little did I realize that simple act cutting his wood for him instead of him using the self-help table made him a loyal customer to this date has built three homes all from product from our Hilo Store.
It seems that this guy could build homes but couldn't cut wood molding. Oh well but I do whatever it takes to win customers. In life we are tested everyday for our acts of kindness no matter how trivial it may be, the fruits of our efforts will bless us if those efforts are humble.
So what pisses ME off? Customers who simply can't wait their turn for help and fellow sales associates that perpetuate the attitude we are so unfairly judged upon as a whole. Yes there are bad apples but Hilo Home Depot's overall satisfaction rate is just around 70%. Sometimes we don't have product, heck this is Hilo everything gets barged in from Honolulu. We are a home improvement store, kinda like an ACE on steroids, not some kind of warehouse stocked to the rafters with a thousand sheets of CDX Plywood. WE have over 60,000 individual items for sale at any given store nationwide. To stock them all we can only have a limited quantity of each. We don't have a back warehouse, our warehousing space is right above you in the racks that hold them. So if you see an item on a display shelf and nothing in the rack below it. The only space for it is directly above it, not in some mythical back warehouse. We have one big Orange box and practically all of it is retail space.
I love working at Home Depot. It's the only job I've ever had that requires me to engage with our customers and talk plus get paid for doing it! But every once in a while you get a customer who didn't take their meddies and starts ranting about how bad the sales associate was for not helping him or her because he or she was helping another customer or was on the floor for almost 4 hours without a single break all the while having to put up with other crappy customers who never learned the art of patience.
Yes sometimes associates do a 180 when they see a customer trying to grab their attention. I've never had to do that but I can understand some who do. That associate may know that customer as an asshole, or like me they had to go really bad. Or as I sometimes have to do, after dealing with a very intense customer for over an hour, you need to reset so you can engage with another customer with a smile so you seek out a fellow associate to vent on in an aisle and just when you're ready to pop your cork about that asshole customer, another asshole customer comes up and starts ranting about you doing nothing but wasting time. So you leave immediately because you're about ready to clock the next smart-ass person but you can't because it's against company policy to clock customers:rolleyes: Yes they actually have a policy against abusing customers (I guess it happened once or twice).
But there are some bad associates and they typically don't last more than their 90-day probation period anyway. Those that do usually get pulled in and have their hands slapped, suspended or fired on the spot. But for the rest of us who try to help customers (even the asshole types) we don't make a whole lot to take that kind of abuse, no job is worth being yelled at by some inconsiderate person who doesn't know the difference between a Brite Duplex 16D nail and a 16D galvanized box nail. I tell them, "Go ahead and try to frame a house with Duplex nails let along Brite Duplex and see if the building inspector passes your home", (you friggin idiot).
Why should I try to engage with a customer who is bent on proving you wrong by using a double-headed non-galvanized nail that won't stand up to treated lumber rather than a galvanized box nail that will. But hey it's your house, come see me in ten years when it falls to pieces when that zinc nail corrodes from all that Hibor termite treatment in your studs, joists, headers, and trusses attacking every one of your nails you inapproproriately used despite my warnings against using just so you could save a buck on a 5lb box of nails.
Yeah pissy customers piss me off. Right Aaron? But like I tell all customers even those stomping off like some 3-year old who didn't get that firetruck in the toy section, "Have a good day and come back again" :) I think I'll request a punching bag in our breakroom.

WHAT are they doing for long in there. grrrrr. i get mad about this too.

"I don't want to interrupt your meal, but..."
They interrupt anyway.
"This has nothing to do with the topic of conversation, but..."
They go off on some stupid tangent anyway.
"I'm not from Hawaii, or even living there, but..."
They espouse like they one kanak raised in Palolo Valley Housing. Ah come on.

I just hate customers with attitude.
One person came in like he knew the place, and asked where were the other products in the window from last week. I told him that we were doing inventory, so some products won't be available for this week. He then tells me that we had a PSU which is now not on the window, so I pointed it out. After asking me for the price, I told him about the inventory thing, and won't have prices on the products for this week. He gets mad that he can't get a PSU or any other products. I mentioned something about compusa and other stores, but he gets furious that a small store like us don't have what he has. Luckily, I calmed him down and before I knew it, he left.

I apologize to anybody that I have offended, but do not retract anything I have said. I figure that anybody whose shoe fit what I was saying should be able to take what they have been dishing out.
I will be serious now, since some people do not understand sarcasm. Some locals will never accept an outsider being involved with, appreciating or trying to fit in with their culture, and I am not the least bit interested in their opinions. I see them in the same way that I see rednecks in Idaho who chase U.S. Government biologists off of public land: provincial, ignorant and bigoted.
My enthusiasm for ki ho'alu has led me to spend money on CD's and concerts and instructional books. I have sent them as gifts to friends (I never burn them) and strive to respect the tunings, spirit and meanings of the songs, to the point of asking the artists personally.
In what way do you need to defend your culture from me? Am I not helping to preserve it by supporting it?

I've been a pretty avid mountain biker the past 13 years and have seen parts of this island that few do as a result. What burns me so bad is to finish an hour long climb on a rutted double track to find a refrigerator or stove dumped trailside at the top. I mean whaaaaa?!?!?! Shlep it all the way up the mountain to dump it when we have refuse convenience centers all over the island that will allow you to dump it for free?!?!?!?!

Me and car alarms don't go together - especially if the alarm is hooked up to a horn. And since the store is 10 ft from a loading zone, that makes it more irritating.
Oh, and I hate it when people state the obvious. A car salesman left a voicemail on my phone, saying that a car I checked out a week ago is still available, but the price went up from $0.99.

One thing that pisses me off is a radio station changing formats. The owner of the radio station obviously doesn't care how much I love the format they are dumping to make way for a new format that I may not like. When KUMU AM dumped Adult Standards in June 2004 for Air America talk, I was angry. Visionary Related Entertainment, the owner of KUMU AM, did not care how much I love Adult Standards or how much I hate talk radio. The owner has no aloha. Talk about being cruel and insensitive.
Another thing that pisses me off is people who do not reply to my emails. I feel that when I send an email to someone, that person should reply to my email to answer my questions or at least acknowledge that they received my email. Don't leave me hanging.

I agree...a little common courtesy wouldn't hurt; prompt replies are always appreciated by me. One possible cause for the lack of a response within a reasonable amount of time, could be overly-aggressive spam filters on one's e-mail accounts. I remember once that my main e-mail account was purging so much e-mail that was not spam, that I was not responding whatsoever to an excessive number of e-mails, all which should have been answered promptly. I did manage to confound numerous e-mailers. Fortunately, I did correct that situation in time, before I really ticked off some e-mailers.

What DOES piss me off is...injustice! I cannot STAND unfairness, cruelty, injustice, oh I said that, and BULLIES that abuse their power!!! Cruelty to animals, abuse to anything that's weak....PISSES me off royally.
Impatience pisses me off. Yeah, I'm human, I get frustrated like anyone else at times, but it's the impatience that has to be loud, in others' faces, the impatient person that has to act out what they are feeling, yeah, truly impatient people do it, too. Look, it ain't a perfect world, none of us has walked on water, things are going to try our patience and we should know that, remember it, and arm ourselves with it, and just be easy going, speak when we have to, even bluntly but NOT get into that emotional tizzy that is truly impatience.

Some of us believe when we are taking our "#1's" in a public bathroom... we feel are own body part is much cleaner than the sinks in some places (think of how many guys do go straight from the urinal to the handle on the sink...and then where does it go from there...etc?)
I mean sheesh... If your just touching your penis...isn't that like anyother part of your body... I mean your gonna feel the backspray from the urinal if it does hit your hand...then you can wash...but what is so grotesque about touching another part of our body as you release some bodily fluids?:o

Why they'd have to make the H3 so long?
Story: I was supposed to fix a client's computer tonight because their computer wouldn't startup properly. I get to the beginning of the H3 via H1, and my cell phone rang. I answer my cell, and it was the client's wife, calling to say that the computer was working properly. For the next few seconds, I dangerously drive with one hand on the wheel and my other hand holding my phone, and she repeated what her husband said, that it was okay. She apologies for where I was and I resumed driving. By the time I hung up the phone, I started cussing, then I passed the sign that said Kaneohe: 10 miles and I really dropped bombs.
Well, atleast she didn't call back and said that there was something wrong with the computer. :D

Maybe you should have an answering machine that states that,
& have the ringer off until you wake up.
I.E. (for your messages in your answering machine) "Hello, I'm un availabe to answer your call at this time, so please do call back any time between 9 - 7 or leave a message & I'll return your call as soon as I can. Thank you & Have a good day & evening"
~OR~ "Hello I'm sorry, I'm un available to answer your call between

Yeah, people that talk too loudly when returning very late, it's this not even taking into account the common courtesies, the things which seem so obvious, that's a good one.
About washing your hands, and being told you should when you were about to, LOL. I know that feeling, too. I carry those little moist wipes, but careful if you drop one, you can sure get some weird looks cuz they are the same size as an individually wrapped condom, LOL.

Sorry, my buddy m - I don't stand alongside you on this one.
You need to see some footage of the microscopic beasties that travel on your hands after you urinate - then imagine someone else's beasties on the restroom door handle, now transferred to your hands, now to that sandwich you are having for lunch, now to your mouth and your intestinal tract...urp!
And as Serenity pointed out, water alone does little to remove them from your skin. Hot water & soap. If the sinks are gross, use hand sanitizer AFTER the hot water & soap - sanitizer alone is better than nothing, but still not as effective as using soap.

~OR~ "Hello I'm sorry, I'm un available to answer your call between
8 PM - 8 am, so please do call back at a later time or leave a message & I will return your call as soon as I can".
Hope that helps. :)
Aloha. :)

Some random and (probably really lame) things that piss me off:
- When someone takes up two parking spots or parks way over the painted lines in tight spots like Ala Moana or anywhere in Waikiki. Basically, it sparks a trickle-down effect where you now have to park over the line to fit into your spot, then the next car has to do the same, etc.
- When a kid pushes over one of my daughters in the playground, and the parent doesn't do anything about it.
- When I'm watching a great movie at the theater and have to go shi-shi really bad.
- When I dawn-patrol and can see the waves are firing, then realize I forgot my boardshorts.
- When I burn my microwave popcorn.
- When I realize too late that they got my drive-thru order wrong.

My kids were awake until 2am lastnight! Why do people call at 8am!?? Why can't they just wait until 9. 9 - 7 thats the onyl time I want to hear my phones ring!
Back when I was with Hawaiian Telcom, we started our shifts at 8am, and we gotta atleast make the attempt to call the person. I never had one person say that we can call them back later in the morning or afternoon. Plus, usually people are getting ready for work, so we can catch them and either confirm the problem is gone, or schedule a time to call back.
And I just hate transferring files from hard drive to hard drive. This time, the transfer will take almost two hours - which I don't have time (I get out at 3pm). I just hope that the terabyte hard drives won't be this slow.

I hate people who tries to catch us when we are getting ready to do something, like eat dinner, heading out etc...
just so that they can sell us sh!t over the phone, & just agree to anything without considering what is being offered to just to get them off the hook when we are getting ready to do something!!.
Thank God We got that Call block, caller ID thing on our phone.
In order to get through to us (on our land line), : when you call direct, you have to state a name &/or a company name, or dial: *82 - plus 7 digit number to just get through.
So either way, they are caught if it is a prank call or some lame company trying to sell us nothing but crap!!.
That definately helped us a lot in the loooong run.
We haven't had any lame people or company call us, other than who we want to call us back.

Sorry, my buddy m - I don't stand alongside you on this one.
That's okay my buddy... I prefer to stand by myself at the urinals:cool:
But I did say:
And quite frankly some public bathrooms scare me... and all I do want to do is get in and get out!
I'm not sure when the last time you came to Oahu Leo... but the next time.... if you have a chance, go check out a males public bathroom at Ala Moana Park (believe me... you don't want to touch anything in the bathroom and there is no doors so you don't have to worry about grabbing a handle) and/or for that matter... also, if you get a chance, check Ala Moana malls bathrooms. They are so heavily used that too me... that they are disgusting!
If it's a clean bathroom and I know that it gets cleaned regularly... I would have no problem washing my hands... however, some of the bathrooms I've seen have really tripped me out...(Well just as bad as some of the camp grounds in Washington I guess to make a comparison)
(anyone in Hilo ever tried to use the public bathroom at the boat ramps by the bridge at Waiola???? there like the only public bathrooms available after 5 at nights...and I wouldn't touch anything there)
I really feel even more sorry for the ladies on this very subject...
But hey...it's not like we all don't go to the bathroom!
UPDATE: What really pisses me off... Is I'm all settled in to watch my DVR recording of Lost...avoiding all Lost related posts today... and Just as I'm nice and ready to watch it... - When I burn my microwave popcorn.
Oh man when I smell the lasting odor of burn't microwave popcorn that's gotta be sad. First you're tantalized by the smell of popping pop corn awaiting that moment of savor, and like a greedy person you want every kernel to pop so you let that microwave oven go a few more seconds so you can get as much of that buttery popcorn you can handle.
Then bliss turns to sheer horror as you begin to smell the slight scent of something burning wafting from the oven vent. But before you can stop the process, it's too late, the core of the popcorn bag has become POPCORN HELL and the carbonized popcorn in the middle has tainted the whole bag and you sit in disgust as you sift thru the smokey ruin and try to taste what you savored seconds ago.:(
That's almost as pathetic as when I saw this one harried woman with her bags of goods purchased at Ala Moana Shopping center back in the 70's. Woolworths (right next to Longs Drugs) had just sold her a bowl of S&S saimin and she was gingerly walking to a concrete bench to savor her lunch. As she began to sit, she lost her balance and the whole bowl of saimin plopped to the pavement.
After all that effort she lost her lunch and she looked totally disgusted especially since most of it fell on her high heels:eek:

Injecting politics where it has no place.
The co-founder of the Ukes For Troops program, in announcing recent news about the plan, has been posting messages around the internet with a very distinct political screed attached. One such posting caused quite a firestorm in the `ukulele community today, and likely cost her project a lot of supporters.
It's a shame, because this seemed like a lovely gesture, an utterly non-partisan activity. Until now.

I guess this is gonna sound like I'm always pissed, but a few more things that piss me off:
- When I wash my car and it rains the next day.
- Traffic
- Depressing movies. I saw Requiem for a Dream the other day. That's gotta be the most depressing movie I've ever seen in my life. I was moping around for days.
- When I wake up in the middle of the night all stoked on eating some leftovers, and my wife or one of my kids beat me to it. Grrr

I call this "salesperson allergy"... often I go to a store and I only want to look. I don't want to be bothered by a salesperson. If I am approached with the usual "can I help you," I always respond with "just looking." More often than not sales people leave me alone when I say "just looking."
Of course the worst place to be "just looking" is many car dealerships where sales people will not allow you to "just look" and follow you around the lot trying to get you into the car that you spend more than 5 seconds "just looking" at.

The rule is the rule. If there are 5 people ahead of me who obviously have more than 10 items in the express line, they ought to be called for it. We expect the cashiers to call them on the infraction. That is their job. Sometimes though, the customer caught behind the line scafflaws need to call them on it too.
What I also can't figure out is why people ignore the sign that says "Cash only" and whip out their credit or debit card expecting to complete the transaction. They only slow the cash paying customers down since the cashier has to void the ring, sometimes item by item because there is no computer terminal in that line to handle a card transaction.

I just got so angry that I didn't even bother to ask for it back & much less the green garnishes that was suppose to come with my noodle soup  !!!. After eating, we paid & left!!. That was the end of her tip  !!! GAWD!!.

Scrivener will understand my edit here.
I'm just quoting what is printed on the signs. Maybe we ought to call the English usage police on all of the super markets. :)
I mean the public got the fire department on the store formerly known as Daiei. If that can change it, maybe a squadron of English teachers can straighten out the sign usage.

The rule is the rule. If there are 5 people ahead of me who obviously have more than 10 items in the express line, they ought to be called for it. We expect the cashiers to call them on the infraction. That is their job. Sometimes though, the customer caught behind the line scafflaws need to call them on it too.
.
Well I am not the one in line in front of 5 people , generally I am the ONLY one in line ( at least when I was called on having eleven instead of ten items). I did end up just puting the extra pack of gum away. I stil think the "rule " can go toofar!
I am far from inconsiderate. I use cash and I generally allow other people to go ahead of me. I guess I am just mellow about it. what is an extra 10 seconds it will take them to scan 11 instead of 10?
And I don't mean like 20 I mean 11 literally.
They need to relaxxxxxxxxx, just a little :p

I'm not one who gets PO'd very easy. But one morning last week I was pushed over the edge! Our condo house rules absolutely forbid any workmen to enter the property before 8am. I understand and accept that rule.
Then, one morning last week, I'm sound asleep and there's a loud knock on my door. I look at the clock and it's 7:15a so I ignore the knock. Several more knocks...each getting louder. I look thru the peep hole. It's security. Me: "Yes?". He: "It's security." Me: "I know. It's also 7:15...AY EM." It seems the resident manager was on the other end of the walkie-talkie (or whatever they're called now!) and he wanted security to tell me he was going to start fining me for not painting the exterior of the new wall I just had installed! What a weenie for sending security! I told security to have the RM call me at 8am...the time stated in the house rules. I go back to bed. Knock...knock...knock. This pattern repeated itself 3 more times before 7:30am. RM and the office conveniently forgot that I'd requested RM, via email, phone and to his face 2 weeks prior, to come to my unit to discuss the color prior to painting. Security said the RM said to tell me he'd start fining me daily. I told security to tell RM if there was one more knock, ever, before 8am for anything but a life and death emergency, I'd haul his little hiney into court! The knocks stopped. I shot off an email that included quotes from other emails addressing both the painting and the 8am rule to the RM, the board of directors and to the property manager at the management company. Good grief...now I know that's what it takes to get any kind of action out of that office. However, that's just not how I like to conduct my life.
I'm sure I'm now on some belligerent owner's list and that the RM will go out of his way to be unaccommodating but...screw him. Once I finish the painting...if ever; the RM still hasn't come by my unit to discuss the color...then I get to follow up with forwarding a slew of emails that date back to June that the RM has totally ignored. Unfortunately it takes Cc'ing the management company before the RM does what he's hired to do. My maintenance fees at work! In the 20 years I've been an owner this is the first RM I've had any problems with.
Aaaaah...I feel so much better now! :D

Yeah, I completely agree. I'm not calling anyone out here, but it just doesn't seem like that big of a deal if someone has 11 or 12 items in a 10 item checkout. I get that it's a rule and everything... but it's never been a hard-and-fast rule to me. The impression I always got is that it was primarily meant to keep out shoppers with choke items. 1 or 2 over the limit? No biggie
Let's see... what am I pissed about right now. I guess nothing. It's the holiday season and I'm pretty happy. :o

I hate the fact that there isn't another computer store within walking distance of Fort Street Mall! (yes, the fact that a computer store needs another computer store is weird, but we don't have that much stuff.) No one has mice, ethernet cables, not even a decent computer case!
*bangs head on desk*
Be happy you don't live here on the Big Island where there isn't a decent computer shop within driving range. You gotta fly out to get decent. It's sad when people ask me where's the best computer shop in Hilo. I tell them WalMart.

I just hate cheap cases (okay, this case isn't cheap, it had a mirror-like paint job - and it was $250!!) that literally solder the motherboard standoffs onto the case!!! Not everyone will use an ATX motherboard in a case.
I wish I had my dremel so that I can just cut it right off.

I would have told the security guard to tell the RM that I'd love to paint the wall now but I have to wait until after 8am because heaven forbid my neighbors might confuse the knocking on my door as maintenance people instead of a security guard who is SUPPOSED TO KNOW THE RULES HERE!"

Ummm Adrian isn't that case made for ATX motherboards? Here's an analogy:
Dammit I can't get this Chevy Motor into my Ford. Doesn't Ford know some people will use a Chevy Motor in a Ford body.
Okay that said, Home Depot sells cut off wheels for your dremel.:D

Well....
Good for you!!. :)
Personally, It helps me a great deal with my relationship with my hubby by just ranting here, than yelling & complaining to my hubby all the time & everyday that I am bothered about something. .
You ought to know that by now, that's the reasons why a lot of people rant on here, regardless of how many they post ;) .
You know?.
So...
Stop complaining about who rants what & how many, for crying out loud!!.
Sheeeesh.
P.S. You don't see me complaining about other people ranting here, other than you (half the time).
Soo...
Just let us be already, & leave us alone, & go on - on your merry way, & go about your business & stop complaining about other's ranting, & just concentrate on yourself!.
Sheeeesh.

Yes Serenity... I agree with you... writing to HT helps me relieve stuff that I might otherwise take out on those that I do truly care about!
However, there are also methods also.
Theres nothing better than for me to get into my daily beef with a certain member here on HT...it's almost therapeutic sometimes!:o
But what gatherings are happening here that I'm not aware of??? Manoa feel like he getting left out of something.
And Serenity, on behalf of your husband....PLEASE keep ranting here...!!!!

I am really pissed off that my mother - in - law gets so mad at me when my oldest can't change his visitations with his mom and misses a visit with Grandma.
So she tells me I am keeping her grandkids from her and she doesn't want to take my other 2 kids!
I am even more mad my son said "Why does grandma like me so much more than my brothers?"
and what the heck can I do about it??
And when she says we are disrespecting her by asking her not to complian about it in front of the 2 little boys because they feel hurt! And she says it is 100% my fault for not talking my sons BIO mom into switching her weekends! And she tells me I am keeping him from her!
Not a good night! REALLYYYY looking foward to Christmas...Oh ya! Should be fun!
