Limewire has hit back even harder with counterclaims accusing the RIAA of antitrust violations, consumer fraud and other misconduct. Specifically, they seem to be making the case that the RIAA only wants to shut down Limewire because it is a competitive distribution mechanism that they cannot control, which helps compete with their monopolistic control on traditional distribution.

Limewire is my new hero. :D

Is this a file sharing site? My friend just mentioned this to me, but I haven't checked it out yet. Is it like Winmx used to be, or Napster?

I would think the service itself (P2P) is not evil, but the content that people share turns the stomach and pocketbooks of the RIAA. It will be an uphill battle for Limewire, but I hope they win.

Limewire is going to have a very uphill battle. Due to recent precedent setting
court rulings, most of the P2P services like eDonkey, WinMX, Aimster, iMesh,
KaZaa, Grokster, have either shut down or settled with RIAA.
