With a rash of miscommunication, misinterpretation, animosity, and e-thuggin', I think it's time the HT Family had a seat in the HT Circle of Reconciliation. Here, we will

1) Get things off of our chests and politely address issues we have with other members

2) Cite a specific thing they did on HT that annoys/-ed you. Assuming (presuming?) they're an idiot, bigot, etc. don't count--show proof! APA style not required :D

3) Accept critiques about ourselves like mature adults

I'll start. Got2HaVKaYaNoW, I didn't like some of your responses in "The Name Game - Chapter 5--particularly your response of "Edward," (http://www.hawaiithreads.com/showthread.php?t=10087&page=2) and "B. Arthur ~ Golden Girls Lady!" in response to "Cecille B. Demille" (http://www.hawaiithreads.com/showthread.php?t=10087&page=4). Just thought they were not thought through and kinda took away some fun in The Name Game for me. :D

I don't know about the family problems and the incest and the skeletons in the closet. Sometimes I see a sig line or read a comment that I imagine is not for just anyone, but for someone specific. But I haven't been here too long, and besides, I am not wanting to get into that kind of stuff here.

But I can say that it's much better nowadays, now that I'm not the one being attacked. That 'baptism by fire' was no fun, and I have to wonder how many lurkers get turned off by stuff like that.

I'm relatively new here but I tend to notice that some people are full of themselves. They post random questions, then bash anyone that doesn't have the same opinion as them.

In my message board experience, someone will ALWAYS read into the wrong thing and take it the wrong way. But sheesh don't post a question for the world to see and expect to get the answers you want to hear.

I appreciate the sentiment, but this is just a bad idea. If you have a gripe to pick with another user, contact them directly.

Strong personalities, clashes, trolls, inside jokes, miscommunication... these are hallmarks of message boards, that come with all the positive things that keep us coming back. If the positive things aren't enough, there are plenty of other message boards in the sea. Or something.

For collective self-analysis, we'll always have the neverending "Is Hwaiithreads.com Too Mean? (http://www.hawaiithreads.com/showthread.php?t=9725)" thread.
