for anyone interested in a free seminar by hiff cinematography award winner Matthew Libatique, you can catch him at the dole cannery theater next wednesday (25th) at 5 pm.

I heard from a volunteer that Ken was sick and that they screened "The Last Samurai" instead.

he was so hansdome! and tall! and and and.... didn't speak a whole lot. i felt bad for how much swarming was being done around him but it was also kind of easy to get some photos. i always feel like a jerk taking photos of people who are famous. which, now that i think about it, shouldn't be as big of a deal. i mean, they're used to it right?
anyway-- i put em up in my latest blog entry. it was such a great week!

I was bummed about missing the first half of HIFF, but I managed to squeeze in a few films in the remaining days (all 5 of them). I can honestly say that I didn't regret any of the movies that I picked to watch.
--Blue Swallow: interesting but think it coulda been shorter
--Americanese: loved it
--APT: too much like The Grudge
--Bridge: interesting in a morbid way
--John & Jane Toll Free: Interesting (now I know how those Indian call centers work)
--Inheritance: interesting because I've never seen an Filipino horror film
--Obaba: loved it
--Summer Palace: interesting to see college life in another country
--Holly: loved it even though it was depressing
--Colma: loved it (want the DVD)
--DisORIENTation: had some hilarious shorts
--Men at Work: interesting
--Severance: hilarious (want the DVD)
--Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehan: was told ya would either like it or hate it from other Indian friends who had seen it, and I guess I liked it--for the most part
--Host: loved it
