Hello
I'm new to HT. I am not savvy at the computer but have found it necessary.
I am looking forward to reading yours and inputing mine.
I live in Alaska and will be living on the Big Island within a year. I hope that I can ask some questions of the people here.
This should be fun:D

Thanks

I lived in Anchorage for 4 years. I loved it up there so much. Like Ive always said, had we not made the move to Hawaii, I would of gone back up there. Its a great place for alot of the same reasons that make Hawaii great. Good luck with your move, and stay warm!

Aloha knikkitty!

My family recently visited Alaska this past summer. It was awesome! In many ways, it gave me the feeling like Hawai'i as the land feels so very sacred and lush with beauty. The wildlife is great too! We were on a cruise and I actually spotted an Orca Killer Whale and some sea otters. There were plenty of Bald Eagles. The eagles were in such abundance that it reminded me of SoCal's pidgeon/sea gull populations.

During our trip into Skagway, we went into town for a salmon bake which gave me feelings of being at a luau. Just substitute the kalua pig and poi with some salmon and chowder, and kanikapila, for some folksy/blue grass music, and presto, an Alaskan Luau.

I happened to be wearing a Hawaiian T and one wahine asked if I was from the islandz. Long story short, her family hails from West O'ahu and been planted there for 10 + yrs. I'm sure if my ohana can muster up da okane fo mo trips, I'm gone to Alaska. :D

Anchorage is a nice City, not to big yet. I find that I do not want to live outside of Alaska or Hawaii, the reasons are so apparent, as you know, once you'v been there:-).
Thanks for the wish of warm!

E komo mai! :) (Welcome)

Ive always wanted to go to Alaska. We had friends stationed up there, they worked for BP... but I forgot the name of the place.. it was somewhere WAYYY up north in Alaska.. like a tiny place.

Anyway.. hope you enjoy living in Hawaii.. :)
