Well....its finally November! I can't believe it that time sure flies by fast. I have to say that my two favorite holidays are Thanksgiving because I get to eat turkey and mashed potatoes. I can eat mashed potatoes all day and all night long. The other holiday that is my favorite is Christmas because I get to spend time with family and friends and go shopping!

Aue e achow, you and I have a lot in common with each other! I too love Thanksgiving and Christmas. Ono na mashed potatoes! lol I love 'em too! Christmas shopping is also fun.
But, how many of you have been in situations where you don't know what to get someone? I have.
As for seasons, I love both summer and winter because they're so different from one another and I can do different things during either one. In summer I can surf, swim, sit outside and relax in the sun, etc. In winter I love tubing, making snowmen, having hot chocolate in the hale, and sitting by the fire. Hawaii residents... if ya wanna see snow come to Maine where I live! lol

Any one that finds me with enough in my wallet to truly enjoy the day off, if I get it off that is... Spending time with my wife is a Holiday no matter the date, eh?!

I really Love Thanksgiving but I think Right before Christmas is my favorite! We always have a huge White Elephant party and invite all the neighbors as well! Everyone is so happy and giving. We get to spend time with all the family. And spend the evening with My husband's parents. Nothing can beat that for us anyways.

Christmas - but only after I've figured out what to get everyone. Until then: Bah, Humbug.

My favorites local holidays are Lei Day in Hawaii and Patriots' Day (3rd Monday in April; Boston Marathon run that day) in Massachusetts.
My favorite national holiday would have to be the Fourth of July. I love the nationwide celebratory feel in the air..all the parades, the backyard barbeques, the fireworks and the fact that it is in summer. It's kind of like the entire nation is in a vacation mode the week around that holiday.

My dream is to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas on other, non-descript dates; maybe turkey day during May and Christmas during Sept. Just completely obscure dates! And, giving gifts to children's hospitals, bringing santa, carolers, the whole Christmas enchilada! No accepting personal gifts. This idea was born out of a Jim Nabor Christmas in Hawaii special I worked on at least 25 years ago. Christmas specials are always shot months in advance. One of the segments took place at Shriners Childrens Hospital on Punahou St....an entire celebration in Sept. The kids were absolutely thrilled. Sept? December? They didn't care. I'll never forget that. The props dept. made sure every child received a stocking filled with gifts.
My Christmas season tradition is to become involved in a grass roots, volunteer project. Auntie Lynn's slipper project last year was wonderful. Volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House on Christmas day is awesome. My other tradition is to make sure I call all my mainland relatives and friends while sitting in my beach chair in the water! Drives 'em all nuts! By the time Christmas day rolls around, I'm beat. The industry parties I attend are always fun, esp. to see everyone socially instead of when we're up to our eyeballs in work and deadlines. I thoroughly enjoy all the people I work with always look forward to the get-togethers. I'm always so ready for the season to end! :o

I don't have any fave holidays. I only have fave seasons and that would have to be Spring and Summer as I get to play golf! But we're still playing golf this time of the year and we play winter golf which can be pretty interesting as the ice can carry your golf ball a lot farther down the fairway than grass! :D
