I really want to go to Las Vegas with my husband next year. I want to find a group that caters to newbies. I was a child the last time I visited, and I have no idea where to go and what do. I don't know how to gamble, either.

I would like to find a tour group that I can hang with, so I won't be so lost. I am just reluctant to approach any travel agency just yet... first, I thought I'd ask you all for advice. My friends/family are old pros, and don't need groups. I don't want to go with them, because I know I'll be a drag.

Any suggestions will help me. Thank you!

Hi Nikki..you really don't need a tour group if you are going with your hubby. The old Strip and 99% of the new casino area are confined in one area consisting of many blocks. You definitely will not get lost from your hotel to all the "excitement". In fact there is so much to see and so many people, I find having a tour group will just slow you down. For one thing you will definitely be overwhelmed with all the glitz and people. As far as gambling is concern, all the hotels have mini lessons and also lessons on TV.

Have a great time and let loose...you will never forget the experience.

Oh I forgot to tell you. Your hotel concierge can arrange bus tours for you, ie to the Hoover Damn, which I highly recommend.

Expense Account- Bellagio- classy- Scarface stylee

My own money
Monte Carlo with the fam- on the strip- nice but not too expensive
Downtown by myself- my alter ego thrives there.

Pretty funny but very accurate- check out the review of The California

The "Vegas on $0.25 a day" link is hilarious. And informative.

Have fun!!!:)
