Alewa/Kam Heights--Neighborhood profile?

Aloha all. Can anyone tell me about the Alewa/Kam Heights area? I am applying for an apartment there but not really familiar with the area. Is it safe, quiet, etc.? I've driven through the area but can't tell much-- it looks okay. Your opinions are much appreciated :D

I live there, and if you can afford it (I can afford it only because the owner is my favorite teacher of all time and I'm one of her angels), DO move there. It's quiet, it's safe, the neighbors are nice, and it's close to everything, unless you don't have your own wheels. If you want to send me private mail and tell me where the place is, I can tell you even more.
