Whew. 10 minutes has gone by and I can still feel the excitement from the call.

Anyway, I got a call from the dealership I visited last night, and they got a loan for me - that means I get to drive home my new 2004 Mazda 3 hatchback!!

I thought I'd have to get my Mom's help after the taurus started to show signs of failure (mainly, the transmission is going south), but I was able to get financing within my terms.

I wish he'd call later, because now I can only think of this afternoon - when I'll pick up the car.

Hopefully that financing included a decent interest rate! Or did the dealership snag you for being young and without a lengthy job history?

After I picked up the car from the dealership on Friday, I took my siblings driving. The next day I spent transferring my stuff from the taurus to my mazda, and after finding out from the satellite city hall that I need the permanent registration from my Mazda and taurus, I just went driving all over. Now I know why young adults like these cars. They're very fast, and I think my lead foot is coming back, because I can do 0-40 from the stoplight. with little effort. The handling is awesome, and I gotta remember this can take turns unlike my taurus.

BTW, the taurus is currently sitting in the car port awaiting the registration, then I'll transfer the plates, and it'll probably be donated to the high school or towed somewhere if my Dad can't sell it back to the dealer.

Adrian, enjoy your freedom... living at home gives you lots of disposable income to do things like drive a new car. (I don't think I'll ever own a new car for as long as I live.) With your unease relating to your work situation, with the other stresses you've shared with us over the years, I can see the need to have something nice. But be careful, okay? Your family needs you... and we like having you around.

Don't worry. I'm just getting some fun out of my system. I still can't believe this is a hatchback, instead of a 2 door.

I remember when I bought my first car. I stupidly went through my bank
instead of Ford Credit. Thus consequently I got hit with a higher interest
rate of 7.75% instead of a lower interest rate through Ford Credit.

That's what we're worried about! ;)

It'll go out of control and crash just as easy as any other car.

Be safe, Adrian!

I'm done with it a few hours ago anyway, so now I'll watch my speed and lower down my music from now on. ;)

But atleast I can control it better than the taurus. I'm finding I can enter into parking stalls easier with this car.

Congratulations. I know exactly how you feel. Whenever I buy myself an expensive toy, I get that silly giddy feeling I used to get as a kid on Christmas morning. The feeling always seems to be a little stronger when that expensive toy is a car. For me, anyway.

Enjoy, and don't forget about the new speeding law. :D

Yeah, you gotta watch out for those speed guns. My "ex" just complained to me after getting cited in a well-known speed trap. The ticket's going to cost over $120!

I totally forgot about that law. I thought I won't worry about it when I had the taurus (the whole car shook when it got over 65mph) but I feel I can easily do that in this car.
