A rash of Mazda 3 owners have fell victim to a sneaky method of forced entry to their zoom zooms. When returning to their vehicles the passenger side door has a dent, and all of the items once in their cars, are now gone. No glass smashed, no door locks jimmied, just a side blow to the door will grant entry to the thief.

I don't know how far this problem goes, and hopefully my '04 isn't affected.

Adrian, if you read the whole story, it says it affects all Mazda3's through the 2007 model (they have started installing a better doorlock on the '07s manufactured in Japan). Hopefully your car has an alarm on it too.

You should get an alarm anyway, because if somebody smashes your car window, they can still get in and steal your stereo, etc.

The stereo is integrated into the dash. Plus, I never leave anything in my car (not in plain sight anyway)

I'm still getting an alarm though. Soon, I'll be driving my car to work, and I don't want no one messing with her.
