Boston lead singer Brad Delp found dead in his home (http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Music/03/09/delp.dead.reut/index.html)

With the current resurgence of 70's and 80's rock bands reuniting for tours (Foreigner will have a concert at the Blaisdell Arena on March 15, 2007), this hits hard for Boston fans such as myself.

We'll surely miss Brad's harmonic perfection and high pitched vocals that led into the screaming Les Paul leads that are signature of Boston's sound.

Heartfelt condolences go out to Brad's ohana.

We've just lost the nicest guy in rock and roll. (http://www.bandboston.com)

That's sad. Brad's voice is one that's hard to duplicate. He'll be surely missed in the rock n roll world.

:(

Major Bummer !!!

I'd always heard that the reason Boston didn't tour much was because he had stagefright. I hope this wasn't yet another Rock n Roll drug casualty.

What a voice he had. That first Boston record is one of those rare, perfect rock albums. Every song is a gem, every solo and melody is memorable.
The soundtrack to my junior high school days. I remember spinning this record while I was waiting for my ride to my very first concert...KISS in 1977...like it was yesterday.

Too young to die , that's for sure.

Truly a drag. Having made a failed career at being a hack guitarist, I'll be ever grateful to Boston for inspiring me to at least fake being a rock star. The man had pipes, and he wrote lyrics that anyone who's ever picked up a bong will remember forever. Auwe.

Oh man

Who of us DIDN'T sing along to More Than A Feeling when it came on the radio, and sang most of it falsetto since we couldn't sing as high as Brad Delp.........or play air guitar to the progressive intro to Long Time.

This is a true loss to the Rock & Roll community. My best goes out to the family and friends of Brad Delp and the band Boston.

And Makana got booed off the stage when his then-girlfriend wangled him the spot as the opening act for Sting a few years back.
Anyway... R.I.P., Brad Delp.

A bit OT, but why did these opening acts get booed off stage? I've never seen that happen before. Are jazz audiences more respectful than rock audiences? Inquiring minds wanna know!

I'm really sad about this. Boston was one of those bands I just assumed would always be around, and hearing about Brad Delp was a sucker punch. I'm going to miss them.

Of course jazz audiences are mor respectful than rock audiences. It was very difficult for any band to open for KISS in their prime. The Kiss fans are die hard, and don't wanna see anyone else when they paid to see KISS. Subsequently, alot of bands got booed off the stage.

Has KISS or BOSTON ever performed here before??

I saw KINGS X booed off the stage in Phoenix in 1991 opening up for AC/DC, even bottles, money, fruit and vegetables were thrown at them just to get them off the stage, which they did throwing the trash back at the audience along with us getting the bird flipped at us.

Not sure if they ever returned to Phoenix after this incident.

Loved Boston, they had a huge comeback when I was in High School with the Third Stage album in 86'.

http://apnews.excite.com/article/20070314/D8NS5O280.htmlMajor bummer. I was hoping at best that it was a heart attack.

He seemed to be well just a few weeks ago, as evident by this performance (probably the last we'll ever see by him) he gave for what looks like a personal friend's birthday party...

Brad Delp Carla Strange Happy Birthday - March 2, 2007 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOjv3yWc5sw).

One of the comments left recently under that YouTube video mentions that Brad sealed himself in his bathroom with 2 live charcoal grills.

 :(

JEEZ !!! Suicide ? What is UP with that ? Him and Richard Jeni in one weekend and BOTH Suicides.

It's stuff like this that makes me glad I didn't become famous...I guess hearing yourself sing on the radio everyday just messes with your mind.
Being that successful must be a high that you just don't want to come down from.
I don't get it, but then, I never walked in those shoes.

So much cool stuff to do in life, why cut it short ?

Oh well....R.I.P. I hope he's at peace now.

Boston performed here in the 80s when they used to have the Summer Blowout at the Aloha Stadium. Kiss performed here in 76'.
