I know there's someone who drives a hybrid here (I think a Prius) - you don't get to participate :p (j/k)

I just did my first gas calculation (probably because I'm driving more than 3 times a week) and my car got about 20mpg. This is with half driving in auto and the other half driving in manual mode and gunning it from stoplights (I know, I gotta stop, but this car is like a go cart) while in mixed highway/freeway traffic.

Ever since they switched to E-10, I've calculated my mileage with every fill-up.

My truck only manages 15-16mpg, but before the switch to E-10, I swear it had to be about 20. My Acura gets a pretty consistent 20mpg, but I've gotten it as high as 25mpg with a lot of super-early short shifting. My other car gets horrible mileage. I've never calculated it, but I'd guess worse than 10mpg. All three vehicles are powered by 3-liter engines.

I got a smallblock in my truck. I was getting 22 mpg and 200 hp before E-10; 14 mpg and 160 hp now.

That's why I love football--it's the only place you see regular forward progress.

My Hyundai Tucson V6 averages about 18 mpg. If I fill it up and hit the mileage thingie and drive downhill or on flat roads it will register about 25 mpg. The minute I head up the Pali, though, the mileage drops dramatically.

I guess the people who wrote the MPG portion of the informational window sticker drove it on flat roads. :)

The EPA's method of determining city/hwy mpg is actually quite antiquated. They're still using unscientific, 1970s methods (not sayin the scientific method didn't exist in the 70s. well, sorta. :o )

Yeah, well, I still love the little jellybean.

It is absolutely perfect for me. Great for my dog and her frequent trips to the veterinarian, tight turning circle for getting into the parking garage at work, six-CD in-dash changer which makes me very happy, easy to park in my ridiculously tiny-spaced parking garage at work (let's not get into the MD-owned HUMMER that takes up two spaces).

And that five year bumper-to-bumper warranty. Hope I never have to test it but nice to know it's there. :)

'96 ACURA RL: 18.0 - 21.0 mpg (3.5L V-6);
'01 HONDA Odyssey EX: 22.0-23.5 mpg (3.5L V-6);
'96 HONDA Accord LX: 24.0-25.0 mpg (2.2L I-4)

The first two use premium. The Acura and the Odyssey have the same horse power rating and the Odyssey is heavier, but has consistently gotten better mileage. Probably due to technological advances in the five-year gap. Almost as high as the four-banger.

'07 Honda Pilot, stop and go Ewa Beach to town commuting

15.5 - 16 mpg on gas from Costco

17 mpg on gas from Chevron

Huh? My only guess is that the Costco gas has more Ethanol.
