Some technology experts believe that the current Internet infrastructure (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18095186/)can never be made secure or stable because of the way it evolved. The solution? scrap the current Internet infrastructure and build a new one!

Scrapping the current Internet? Sounds more like improving a few parts of it. How can they make the rest of the world do the same?

Oh man, 400 sq. ft. is just too small to share space with encyclopedias, dictionaries, file cabinets, cookbooks, hard copy newspapers, catalogues and...people! :D

My computer crashed on Saturday morning. Just got it back a little while ago, with some major glitches intact. It'll take a while to get him back in shape....:::pat pat pat:::

I missed the sorry bugger.

With all his faults I still love him.

I have to admit he looks a helluva lot better under the influence of adult beverages, though. :D

I think we need counseling.

I call BS
If they rebuilt the internet and controlled the nodes, they could apply fees like tolls to us users. I think theyre trying to make money off the internet and this is how.
At its current state (for those of you who dont know how the intarweb works) its a sprawling web of computers interconnected and when you try to go to a website, it tries to go from your pc to the destination via the shortest route, after navigating thru your ISP's internal structure.
For example, if you try to access www.hawaiithreads.com, there might be 5 'hops'
EG:
Your PC>RR Mililani>RR Texas>some router node>Comcast node>lava net host
I'm not at home so I cant post the exact hops, but you get the idea. Now if they rebuilt it to be more 'secure' then why couldnt they toll you (micropayment) or no access without prepaid 'pass'?

These are the exact hops, for those of you that are interested. From byuh at least. 20 Hops!
