I just don't get it. A few months back it was Children of Men, and now it's Hot Fuzz. Why are they making all the movies I want to see limited releases:mad:
Is anyone else looking forward to seeing this if it ever gets to Hawaii.
For those of you who haven't heard about this one, it's a comedy about cops brought to you by the people who did Shaun of the Dead.

Also, if you liked Shaun of the Dead check out the BBC series Spaced.:p

A few years back, Consolidated Movies said it would make an effort to bring limited run movies to the Islands. Varsity Theatre is usually the place these are shown, but I think the Ward Complex was going to do so as well. And Restaurant Row's theatres shows its share of off-beat movies.

Limited release sometimes are because the studio doesnt think itll do well, so they only push it to selected theaters right? Or only NY/LA releases?
Restaurant Row was arthouse, but changed to $1 theatre.

Sweet! When I checked last it wasn't Playing anywhere. I either missed it, or the times hadn't updated yet.

This is Wikipedia's definition of movies in limited release...
A limited release is often used to gauge the appeal of an independent film – especially of documentaries and art films. A common practice by major film studios is to give highly anticipated and critically-acclaimed films a limited release in December in New York and Los Angeles in order to qualify them for an Academy Award nomination, as set out by the rules outlined by the Academy. These films would often receive a wider release later in January or February.
