By order of Mufi Hannemann and the State Legislature, Monday, April 30 (and every April 30 hereafter) is declared as "Hawaiian Restoration Day (http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2007/Apr/28/br/br2068417935.html)".
In remembrance of President Grover Cleveland and Queen Liliuokalani, Monday has been declared Hawaiian Restoration Day in Hawai'i by a proclamation from Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann and a resolution of the state Legislature.
I didn't understand the relationship between President Cleveland and Queen Liliuokalani until I read the text of the House resolution (http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/sessioncurrent/Bills/HCR82_.htm). Fascinating.
