I got me some "forever" stamps, tho.

I remember the first letter I mailed in the 1st grade. It was to Hasbro, and it was about help finding a Storm Shadow action figure for GI Joe. The stamp cost 22 cents (the US Flag over an engraving of the US capitol)

I just need to buy the 2 and 4 centers for a lifetime supply.

LOL...one of the first letters I wrote was to Mattel, complaining about the poor fit of Barbie's shoes. I gave it to my mother and it was never mailed---I found it years later.

Don't forget parcel postage also goes up. Unless packed in USPS Priority and Flat Rate boxes, they start charging by size, not weight. :( This Christmas is going to be an even bigger headache. You thought you waited a long time in long lines these past few years, now they have to measure each non-USPS box with a tape measure to calculate charges.

Hmmm. Gift cards to send to the mainland are starting to look real nice and convenient. :D

I've been doing that for a coupla years now and I absolutely loathe it. The recipients don't which, I guess, is all that matters!

Gift cards to send to the mainland are starting to look real nice and convenient. :DEspecially if you can do 'em on-line instead.

Especially if you can do 'em on-line instead.

There you go. Better still. :)

Hooo, went to the PO to send a package out today. Priority Flat rate was $8.99. Then I had to get insurance and confirmation. Total came to $14. They get you on the extra stuff. :( I did manage to get 3 books of forever stamps, though. Just delaying the inevitable. Guess I'll keep going by to get a book here or a book there. Might as well delay it as long as possible. :D

Aw crap, I mailed a letter with a 39¢ stamp today. Didn't know the new prices took effect yesterday.

Oh well, maybe there's an unofficial grace period and they'll let it slide :)
