I just came back from my brother's after-graduation dinner at Tony Romas, and lets just say I'll be reading tons of reviews online before my Mom thinks of reserving a place for a party.
First, we weren't seated until 20 minutes after I came (and I was probably the 3rd to the last person there - with 30 other family members waiting). The service people wasn't enough to serve our party size (there was 3 waitresses/waiters). Yes, I know its a Sunday evening, but my Mom reserved the place a month in advance, so atleast there was a chance of getting more help. Oh, and speaking of help, when a waitress tripped and spilt a tray full of water-filled cups onto my grandma, she grabbed a moist towel, and offered it to us - while we were drying her down with those sorry excuse they call a paper towel. When it was time to bring the food, the appetizers were sent out, but we didn't have any forks - even though we requested it. Eventually, it was brought to us - then right after, the main course was being served. We had a choice between baby back ribs, roasted chicken, boneless chicken, and mahi mahi. Unfortunately, only 1/4 of the party got the ribs, and it was some other ribs as my uncle said (he worked at a restaurant like Tony Romas - I forget the name). To make it worse, they come back, telling us that they ran out of chicken and only got one mahi mahi (which went to my Mom since she's a vegetarian). Eventually, the rest got their food - but it was random -- like some got ribs, rice and brocolli; others got ribs, baked potatoes and coleslaw. If they didn't give us quick refills on our drinks, then I was out of there. Dinner was about 2 hours long plus the waiting, but luckily we kept ourselves busy while we waited for the others on their food. Then, it was dessert. My brother got a sundae, while we had a choice between cheesecake and ice cream. To top it all off, the manager gave my Mom 20% off the bill, but that was still not enough to rinse the bad taste in my mouth of their place. I'm still hungry, and that's not normal if I come from a dinner outing.
