I had a power cord go out on me. I was surfing the net, then my monitor went blank. Luckily I had a backup monitor power cable,so I was able to get back on line. I'm curious if this has happened to anyone else.I think this particular power cord came with my computer.I had problems with it turning on my computer recently. So I swapped it with my monitor power cable.Which it had no problem, until tonight.

I just tried the power cord on another monitor, it wouldn't turn on when using this cord.

Strange. Some cords don't fit well and tend to fall out. Never heard of one outright failing. Does the end look like it melted a bit or got hot? Perhaps poor contact caused it to burn up.

It looked good, no external physical issues for the cord. I've never had a cord fail me on either, thats why its so unusual for me too.

Any chance it might have gotten a kink in it by accident? That could sever the actual wire inside the insulation.

I don't believe so, it didn't look like it got any kinks in it.All I can say is it is very strange.
