I wanted to start a thread about Terence Mckenna. He was a part time resident of the Big Island. Been watching some video clips of his lectures and wanted to share some of them here, hoping to create some discussion about the man and the message he brings.

It's been fixed already. Terence completed his experience and was sent back home on 4/03/2000, although that was enough time ago for the next reincarnation. :D

you want to discuss social darwinism?

I heard of Mr. Mckenna for awhile now but never viewed any of his lectures until youtube came along. I admit, I am a novice when it comes the content of his writings and lectures. I was very interested in what I did see and felt he was a person who needs to be highlighted and talked about.

I do think Social Darwinism is very much related to his writings and lectures but I would not know what his primary thoughts on it are. Now anyone who knows more can dispute me but, I think he feels that there is a mysterious not fully comprehended ultimate reality of the universe. Man as an individual and collectively as a society exists within this ultimate reality. Every individual is subject to some form of cultural conditioning by society. This conditioning could be at conflict with the ultimate reality and actually impede our actual ability of self preservation.
