Some of your choices made it to EW's other 25 top action movies (#26 to #50).
Also the top 25 list only listed one movie from a series. For instance it's only Goldfinger from the James Bond series.
I am kind of wondering how come Starship Troopers or Star Trek II:The Wrath of Khan wasn't in the list.

I think IMO, Goldfinger was the best of the Bonds. BTW helen, I agree with you on Khan and Starship Troopers, those films kept me on the edge although the movies,

these lists are always bs. some arent exactly 'action movies'
hard boiled is an awesome john woo / chow yun fat chinese movie. its available everywhere.
i 2nd total recall and 5th element, not sure about con air or rundown. might as well throw in drunken master 2 in there, that ones awesome.
how about crank? that was almost 100% pure action. blackhawk down too.

In general one should always consider the source of these lists and what sort of criteria went into gathering and ranking of the list. For instance for an action movie does it make it a better movie if the master villian uses an atomic bomb (#19) instead of a robot (#25) to carry out his evil plans?
Does using firearms (#1,2,3,4,5,8,10,11,13,14,17,19,20,22,24) in a movie out trumps one that uses bows and arrows (#18, maybe 16) or swords (#3,6,7,20)?

I know what you mean ,meaning none of the "pirates" movies made the list and they were full of action.

*scowls at the grossly maligned Terminator 2. It deserves First Place, and Die Hard deserves 10th*
Sarah Connor and T2 defined my generation as no other has or could. Her metamorphosis from a (typical Hollywood) Panty Girl to kevlar-lined ovarian lioness doing whatever she had to to protect her son and thus save the world is a role that stands out from the rest of these plots, buff dudes and strong chicks. Not Ellen Ripley, Trinity, Jen, nor the Bride spanned the range of Sarah Connor, nor shared a similar scope of burden.

Speaking of Action movies, who do you think is the greatest action star?
For me it gotta be Bruce Willis or Nick Cage.
