The things that happen on Friday the 13th

The vending machine that I usally get my bottle of Mountain Dew from normally gives me change in quarters ($2 for $1.25 soda gets me 75 cents). Today the machine gives the change in nickels. At least it gave me the correct change.

I have never had bad luck on a Friday the 13th, and when a kid had good luck. On one in '68 I won a hundred bucks on a radio station and of course 39 years ago that was a lot more money. I did phone a sis in Hawaii earlier and told her to make sure we have a lotto ticket for tonight. :D

Friday the 13th means the 15th falls on a Sunday. So Friday is payday!! :D

In years past, I have not had anything bad happen to me on Friday the 13 ... until yesterday.

At work, I tried to help a friend out by setting up her new computer at the office. She doesn’t have internet connection at home yet. But something went wrong in the setup and it froze. I’m afraid I really messed things up. I’ll have to deal with that on Monday.

Then I came home and fired up my home computer, which had just come back from the shop the day before. About an hour into browsing (on HT), the blue screen with a list of error messages came up--the same problem I had been having previously (which was why it was in the shop) had returned again. :mad:

The Apple Store had new cases.

I saw a couple of drivers nearly hit another car trying to cut into another lane.

Never saw a black cat cross in front of me. (but considering I was wearing all black, perhaps I'm the cat?)

The snack vending machine didn't have power. No Bugles for me.

Last minute big project will go live very soon when we thought it was going to be delayed. But this decision came on the Thursday past, so I guess it doesn't count.

So far, my Friday 13's have been pretty good. *knocks on wood* Doesn't mean that I'm not extra careful on those days though. Superstitious or no... I'm not taking any chances.

OMG....what a hilarious brain fart I did on here, in my post above. I said I had "phoned a sis in Hawaii" to make sure we had a lotto ticket for last night. I meant.....a sis in Texas! sorry.....not mental here, really, just.....cough cough, me. :rolleyes:

I saw a couple of drivers nearly hit another car trying to cut into another lane.

Worse then that. I heard two collide. I think it was just after midnight when I heard a dry slide, a hallow "whoomp", and the dogs start barking. My first thought was someone took the curve too fast and slid off the road. Got my slippers and walked the block to the main road. Two cars there. One had slowed and turned left and the one behind couldn't stop and ended up T-boning him. Bad day for both.

My friend got laid on the last one. He told the girl he was feeling lucky, and asked if she wanted to feel the same.
