A report just came in about a 7.5 earthquake about 65 miles from Jakarta. I hope people make it to high ground this time.

"JAKARTA, Indonesia (CNN) -- A powerful earthquake shook buildings and caused panic on the densely-populated Indonesian island of Java, but there have been no reports of injuries and no tsunami alert."

References popping up across the web (http://news.google.com/?ncl=1119009537&hl=en&topic=w&scoring=n) minute by minute. Good idea to check in on the NOAA Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (http://www.prh.noaa.gov/ptwc/), which already has the quake listed. It sends you over to the USGS, which has a detail page (http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/Quakes/us2007fubd.php).

Glad someone mentioned this quake cuz there's something possibly ominous about it.

The thing hit approx. ten and a half hours ago and not ONE aftershock! Yep, this does not compute for a quake this size. The USGS map should show a lot of smaller, colored squares covering the large one that represents this quake.

It is possible that this is a foreshock of another large quake. Not being negative here, just realistic.

The Geysers in Northern CA. are showing a lot of quaking, too.

Still watching Indonesia area cuz now, more than a day after that 7.5, not one aftershock! Remember our Oct. quakes? Hours after them both, the same USGS map system showed many aftershocks, and that's how it is with large quakes. This is something that's worth watching, hmmm.
