Let's see... we covered songs with color, and songs about food.
This time, name songs about planes, trains, automobiles, motorcycles or boats.
Volkswagen is currently running a commercial with a song singing "Roller Coaster... say what? oooh oooooh".. but I couldn't find who sings it. Sounds like a 70's funk tune. I've heard it before. Anyone know?
Here's a few I can think of...
Glamorous - Firgie "We flyin' first class Up in the sky"
Little Red Corvette - Prince
Red Barchetta - Rush
Learning to Fly - Pink Floyd

Wow Mel! No wonder you're the Hawaii Radio & TV webmaster. It shows! What a list! "Songs that give me that sinking feeling". Funny! Dig how you categorized.
Adding to your "Space Travel / Fantasy Flight" category, there's:
Rocket - Def Leppard
The Hellion/Electric Eye - Judas Priest
In your "Ships, Boats" category, you may have missed SUBMARINES! Such as:
Yellow Submarine - The Beatles
One of Our Submarines - Thomas Dolby
Mahalo Gecko for finding the band name of The Ohio Players for "Love Roller Coaster". At least I was right that it was a funk band from the 70's. That was "before my time".
LavaGal, "Magic Carpet Ride" by Steppenwolf is a very cool tune. Not sure about the year of release. Again Even better when you take a "Magic Carpet Ride" along with this F-18 Navy Carrier Pilot! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0H20kp6BC0Q)
Also not mentioned yet is Route 66 by Nat King Cole.

Ugh. Nothing will bring out age difference faster then what you were doing when a particular song was a hit. I can say this particular song was not before my time.
I did have to look it up. At first I thought it was "Ohio Express" but that turned out to be a different group. But, hey, I got the state right. :D
Along the theme of roller coasters: Palisades Park (and that one is before my time, but I liked the "oldies". My high school would put on a 50's show, so I got into it.)

Oh my! I am sure at one time or another I have posted on HT how I always wanted to go up in one of these gorgeous beasts--having been in the USAF in the 1980s and having gone up in a stubby C-150? with the Hurricane Hunters during Iniki and having had a few hops out of Hawaii, including on a C-5. This is one for my iPod and for the eventual acquisition from Apple (after Tuesday, of course). Oh my! Oh my, oh my, oh my! Thanks Pomai! Oh MY!

I never heard that one before. Parody on Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust". There's a video of it here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNlOL8tBVL8)!
Then I suppose his other parody "White and Nerdy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbVtbc_XzrI)" would qualify. A parody of Riding Dirty by Chamillionaire. That video is HILARIOUS.
Ship / Boat
Good Ship Lollipop - Shirley Temple

Oh, and does anyone know the name of that surfing song in Hawaiian that KUMZ (from Halau I Ka Wekiu) sing? I forget. I like that one too.

Love Roller Coaster - The Ohio Players.
Love Roller Coaster by the Ohio Players was made somewhat infamous, back in the mid-70s, as there were rampant rumors that a woman was murdered (and can be heard screaming in agony while being attacked in the released sound track) in the sound studio while the song was in the process of being recorded by the group. There is plenty of info about the supposed "murder" (which never happened) on numerous web sites should you'd be interested in this urban legend.

I'm with ya' on the Moody Blues, Karen. Saw them in HNL in 1974 (or '75) at the HIC. They were introduced as the "smallest symphony orchestra in the world," and it's easy to see why. So, in the spirit of this thread, I'll submit "Ride My Seesaw" by the Moody Blues.
