For a limited time beginning on Oct. 2, check at your favorite SBUX location (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20951093/)for free iTune downloads of music by Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell.

For 37 straight days beginning next week, Starbucks will give away free iTunes music downloads, including songs by Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Paul McCartney, to kick off a new partnership between the coffee titan and Apple Inc. Up to 1.5 million daily giveaways will begin Oct. 2 and run through Nov. 7 at more than 10,000 company-owned and licensed U.S. stores, Starbucks said. When the promotion ends, Starbucks expects to have given away more than 50 million songs.

I'm not a Starbucks junkee so...are ALL the Starbucks company owned or are some franchised? Now that I'm 19 floors above a Starbucks my inquiring mind needs to know!

And some of those will be mine! It's a partnership I can take advantage of!

Starbucks bought out Coffee Partners Hawaii (http://www.bizjournals.com/pacific/stories/2006/01/23/daily18.html)in 2006. Coffee Partners Hawaii also owned the Jamba Juice franchises in Hawai'i, but I don't know if those franchises were included in the deal or not. Jamba Juice's corporate parent may have purchased back the Hawai'i franchises.
