I know there is a gun range near Sandy Beach by the golf course. Not sure of the name but you may be able to find them online, and hopefully they can answer your questions. Near or in Hawii Kai.

Everything you need to know about Hawaii gun laws are at this link:
Hawaii Rifle Association - Hawaii Gun Laws (http://www.hawaiirifleassociation.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=27)
You can also go deeper by searching through the Hawaii Revised Statutes (http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/site1/docs/docs.asp?press1=docs).
HRS volume index (http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/?)
Perhaps this thread should move to Player's Place (guns & shooting is a hobby) or maybe Hawaii Hall (law oriented).

I've never even bothered to read the gun laws for this state. I inherited a couple of guns, heck I dunno, maybe more than that, back in '86 and then when moving to the islands didn't even try to bring 'em to this state cuz I had heard it was such a restrictive state per rights to carry and supposedly to even own. Now, that last part is probably an exaggeration and quite distorted. Doesn't matter to me, I haven't fired a firearm in over 20yrs.
Hope I never need to while sure, while I know I might find myself back at a deer lease someday and do so, but for filling the freezer, not cuz of crime.
