Went up to bed, talked about our 'busy day' with the kids, discussed the next 'busy day', we sang 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star', and went to sleep. After a few hours, I snuck and turned on the TV to CNN to watch the primaries.

Added The Beatles "Abbey Road" album to my current "party mix" of songs on iTunes and fell asleep while the "McCartney" album was still playing and never heard the Beatles. This was at 9:30 last night. It is now 1:57 in the morning and somehow I woke up.

Waking up is a good thing...regardless of the time! A young (34) actress I cast in a local commercial a short few months ago didn't wake up last week. Reason unknown so far.

The last thing I did before going to bed last night was to say a prayer for her family.

Took a Tylenol Cold cap, swabbed Charlotte's nose and my nose with a Zicam swab, listened as she read a book to me about baby farm animals, and hugged each other to sleep. Kid 1 is on the Big Island (4th grade trip) and Kid 2 didn't want to sleep alone. It is heaven to fall asleep with your child with you!

Got home after dinner at Zia's Cafe with some dear friends. Watched the 9pm news on KFVE, sat out on the lanai looking at the stars and had a last smoke, checked the boat, fed the cat, headed upstairs, brushed teeth, and curled up with a good book.

We have several cats and they develop strange routines.

Mochi joins me as I brush my teeth, jumps up on the sink, and wants to drink out of the cup I leave on the sink for him.

He does this almost every night.

Tucked in Kid 1 who was up late filling out her Big Island journal for school today. It is nice to have my girl back from the Big Island. A new memory for her. She had a great time and it was so sweet to see them all waving and hollering at us as the big yellow bus pulled up to the school. It still make me verklempt!

I watched "On the Road With 16 Children (http://health.discovery.com/convergence/duggars/duggarfamily.html)"...

The only dream I remember from last night was my former OB anesthetizing me for a facial peel! He put a handkerchief doused with ether over my nose while I was eating a McDonald's chocolate chip cookie! Bizarre dream even tho' I see a small relationship to the last thing I viewed before going to sleep! :D

Flipped around the channels until I fell asleep. Whenever I see those two infomercials for Extenze and that sex toy thing on the Oxygen channel, I have to stop and watch, haha!

No, it's not the old lady. It's an infomercial with two cute girls selling sex toys. They act like they're talking about kitchen appliances. I always get a kick out of watching them. :D

The last thing I did was read some old YA fiction from the 80's. It's quite the vacation after a particularly rigorous semester in grad school. I knew this stuff was tripe when I was in junior high and now, when I look at it, it's even more amusing. I'm thinking about doing a paper on YA fiction from the 80's, so it might even turn out to be something productive. Although, at this point, a mental vacation is just as useful and necessary! :p

Never underestimate the value of indulging in guilty pleasures. I've got a crush on Neko Case and here's a nice anecdote about her creative process ( http://www.harpmagazine.com/articles/detail.cfm?article_id=3993 ):

Rigby says that when it came time to mix Fox Confessor, he observed a curious Neko Case ritual: Every day she'd show up at the studio with a stack of magazines. She'd sit there in the control room, flipping through the pages, sometimes making idle conversation. "That girl spends a lot of money on magazines, let me tell you," he marvels. "Sometimes it didn't seem like she was even listening, but every so often she'd go, 'What was that? Sounded like a digital glitch or something.' And every time she was right."

I spent last night blowing people up in Team Fortress 2. When you get busy with real life obligations, it's nice having an online game which you can easily drop into for a few hours of random fun, and then jump out of without commitments.

For some reason I couldn't get to sleep last night so I got out of bed at 3am and started watching infomercials until 4:30. I realized it's important to cleanse your colon while saving a ton of money using the Magic Jack! :D

The really indulgent part of last night's entire episode of insommnia was that I saw the before and after shots of detoxifying your colon...in HIGH DEF! Now that's nasty.

lol, craig. I first thought Magic Jack was the product used to clean out your colon. What a horrible product name that would have been. I wouldn't want a Jack scrubbing out my colon, no matter how "magical" he was :p

And then you plug your telephone in it? Imagine that making free long distance and local phone calls from your butt!

And yeah Myopic Joe, that was one of the most freakiest dreams I ever had. I gotta stop staying up late watching those damned informercials.:D
