keiki=rookie, newbie, n00b, green horn, etc.

the more post you get, the higher your "ranking" goes (e.g. 1,000 posts=ali'i; 10,000=you need a life :D or somethin')

Actually to get to ali'i you need to generate 800 posts, not a 1,000. One of the early threads (http://www.hawaiithreads.com/showthread.php?t=16) discusses the ranking structure.

Yes, "keiki" means "child" realistically.
