okay....obama was quoted as saying that hawaii teams have short asians on them and that he was always playing post because of this. Any one think this is an odd comment.? he seems to be getting away with a lot of not very well thought out statements ...especially when he is not working from a script....is anyone bothered by this? thoughts?

I think he might have been doing a Chris Tucker's line to Jackie Chan in a Rush Hour movie.

Obama isn't too far off the mark.

Back in the '80s there were the Canencia brothers playing high school basketball. They were short but fast. Often they were right in there, flying through the key and making layups past taller players.

Our wahine volleyball players often weren't all that tall, either. Yet the UH team trounced almost all the other teams in the WAC.

why would you consider that an "odd" comment? He is quite tall you know.

More Dem suicidal tendencies. Obama being taken down by the same PC zealots who would like to see him win.

It's good to play the post, but you can't be like Lakers' Paul Gasol with his they went that away soft defense.

As you can see, it’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, so to try and take what was said seriously, is to insult Frank DeLima, Mel Cabang, and anyone who understands these things are good-natured ribbing, and tongue-in-cheek.

Good natured ribbing, and tongue in cheek funanigans has been killed by the Political Correctness crowd, with their soft skinned approach to life, and their "I'm so offended" reaction to just about everything.

TK, that's just another reason why we need an Obama in charge.
Hopefully, he'll eventually get the 'stick up their ass' crowd to diminish into the void of total insignifigance.
Janet Jackson's boobie! So what, big deal!
I'd of had real admiration for those two jokers that night if they'd had the balls to tell the American public that they did it on purpose to get the discussion out there to find the proper priorities in American culture, and not be so friggin over-sensitive to the human body and all the problems it causes.

Obama has the chance to do some serious remapping of our society's focus. But, it'll be the battle of the century.
Is America up for it?

If it means more earmarks toward Hawaii than Illinois. ;)

Love taking mainlanders' money.

Which one won't pass the basketball to the open guy and only "hog cheese" the ball?

I'm more amused than "bothered" by this statement. Barry Obama (as he was then known) was a bench warmer on Punahou's team. Must have driven him crazy watching all those "short Asians" getting more playing time than he did.

Ah, but what could Obama say? His team won the state title during his senior year. Hard to accuse the coaching staff of "favoritism" when the starting lineup playing ahead of you are the champs.
