And it's $60 to watch the game on PPV, too... a game we know we're going to lose.
I'll gladly wait until one of the replays tonight and tomorrow morning.

Woohoo! Thanks Ninja!!

Don't believe her, Hawaii is sticking it to the toothless gators.
Warriors! On to the victory party!

Whoohoo!!! Hawai‘i FINALLY scores. 56-3 Gators. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Graunke really let his team down. You can’t put a price on senior leadership at the QB position — especially after losing Jason Rivers, Davonne Bess, and Ryan Grice-Mullins. :(

We'll need to rewatch the Waipio vs. Louisiana baseball game after this to raise our spirits. :)

Tyler would have had his share of misfortunes as well, had he played today as a legitimate starter, and the recievers are reviving the old Rainbow Warrior's habit of dropping passes.
They should have stuck to a 'smash mouth run/it down their throats' play book for UH today, just like they started off the first quarter doing well. They would have scored about 25 points and took away the clock, giving the best chance to pull out a win.
This year's team is good in the muscle positions. Should be a good season.

Don't overlook Weber State who is coached by ex-Utah coach Ron McBride.

Yay!! Hawaii scores again!! And gets the extra point! Nice play, too - it'll be all over the evening news.

And Inoke Funaki gets himself some Gator hide with a touchdown!!! I think Funaki has made a case to move up the depth chart. 56-10 Gators.

Will this game be recapped anywhere on tv this morning? I want to see the game analysis, but I'm tired of being tied to my computer.

Funaki did good. I didn't have high hopes for this game so I was happy that we were 0 and 0 in the first quarter and at least we got points so not so much shame.

not to grouse a point, but this is perhaps the third time I have had descriptive-yet-poignant thread titles changed. I work hard on crafting those, ya know...

Not that it will right the wrong at this point but, PM, but let us know your descriptive-yet-poignant thread title in a post to this thread...and make it big and bright...ya know, size 7, bright color, bold, underlined! ;)

You can still see the original thread title in messages 2, 3 and 4. I liked loved it!!!
Anyway. Glad I didn't spend $60 to watch the game on PPV.

not to grouse a point, but this is perhaps the third time I have had descriptive-yet-poignant thread titles changed. I work hard on crafting those, ya know...The thread started off griping about Oceanic Pay-Per-View, but became the thread to talk about the game. I'm all for clever thread titles, but here's a hint: the more superfluous punctuation the more likely it'll get fixed. And capitalized, too. :p

:o hi this is sansei and i only saw the highlight's of the game and i think inoki funaki did a swell job and he should be the starting quarterback and that once heir apparent tyler graunke should be the person who is the starter even though he has to deal with personal thing's and one of these two can do it,not to say greg or the quarterback who's name i cant think of can be the starter only tyler or inoki had more playing time and has been when colt brennan has been there so i applaud that coach greg mcmackin will let inoki funaki get to be the next quarterback in the next game and go get'em inoki funaki,i believe in you!
Well thank's for your time:o

If Inoke Funaki is starting QB, where does Tyler Graunke placed? Second-string?
Will Tyler see playing time this coming saturday?
Ron Whitfield
September 2nd, 2008, 12:26 PM
I'd say no Tyler yet, not even padded up for Weber.

Need more practice time or something else ... not counting his recurring academic issue?
Ron Whitfield
September 2nd, 2008, 05:35 PM
Way more practice.
But we'll need him soon. The schedual is much stronger than last years.
I think we'll be going thru the list of 4 QBs regularly, as to who is healthy.
Fresno St. looks to be a tuff team this year.

For those of you Hawaii ex-pats living in Utah, KJZZ-TV14 will broadcast the Weber State/UH game live Saturday at 10pm MT. They will use the Hawaii Telecast.

I'm mildly curious about something. It seems like all the local sportscasters are pronouncing Weber State as Wee-ber instead of Web-ber.
Anyone know which is correct?

From the University's own web site:
Founded in 1889, Weber (pronounced Wee-ber) State University is a coeducational, publicly supported university offering professional, liberal arts and technical certificates, as well as associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

I have no clue about the Webers, but I'm calling it Hawaii - 23, Weber St. - 20, with Hawaii holding off a last minute surge by St. and escaping with the win!

Luckily, I didn't bet on the Warriors with the points when I was in Vegas. Florida, How about a recount game at Aloha Stadium?

I thought this college was named after the actor who played one of the brothers on Wings.
