I take it when Guest views a thread it doesn't increase the view count?

as far as I know it does - it did for my posts

You know, I'm not sure. Since the 'thread views' count doesn't increment instantaneously (that's one of the stats that only gets refreshed periodically), it's hard to test.

I do know that the system tracks 'sessions,' so it's likely that one visitor - be it a registered user or a guest - won't be able to increment the view count on a specific thread just by hitting refresh over and over.

We have threads with well over 1,000 views, which sounds too high for 'registered users only' but too low for 'everyone.' My guess would be it counts 'unique viewers' instead. But I'll have to research, and see if it's covered in the documentation.

I will admit that there are times I might view a thread more than once. It will either be a thread with a poll I am interested in seeing or a thread that I didn't reply to it the first time through.
