Hadn't gotten a "private message" here before, but did receive one today.
The old "Nigeria" scam/spam!

If only I'd saved one of the "Make Money Fast" spams from the old days, I could mail it to all the members of hawaiithreads. :)

If you've received spam via the HawaiiThreads.com private message system, please forward it to me, or at least send me the username under which it was sent. While I suppose they get points of actually going through the trouble of registering to send their garbage, it's garbage nonetheless, and it's obviously not welcome.

Thanks for helping me close a loophole in our system, which allowed unverified users to send Private Messages even though they couldn't post to threads. This has been changed to follow our overall "anyone reads, but register to play" arrangement.

Got a lot of junk to clean out of hawaiistories.com. Maybe time to convert it to a subscribe-to-post basis?

(It baffles me how some people can be so utterly stupid as to spend their time posting messages that only people as stupid as the posters would pay attention to.)
