Turner has written an indictment of the FCC and Big Media which is very much worth reading. It's the cover story (http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2004/0407.turner.html) in this month's Washington Monthly.
He touches on the loss of local control (something we Hawai'i TV viewers know something about) and local coverage, but he's more concerned with the conflicts of interest the media has between profit-making and news-covering. Good stuff.
