Although hawaiithreads.com didn't, alas, win the award for the best local website in Honolulu Weekly's annual "Best of Honolulu" issue, it did get an honorable mention, with a quite witty note of how the poor "Weakly" regularly gets bashed here.

Our readers must like the name... Useful stuff, but on a plain website. The Weekly staff likes HawaiiThreads.com, a discussion forum covering everything Hawaii. We read the media section, where the Weekly gets hammered on a regular basis. It hurts so good. Of course, this doesn't neccessarily mean we got any votes, but hey, someone likes us. :) Actually, if it wasn't for the fact that many Weekly staffers are already milling around the Hawaii Media (http://www.hawaiithreads.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35) section, I'd have guessed that they found us through the ad on their Back Page... since I just started running it again.
