One of the brainstorms that struck in the past week is having occasional HawaiiThreads.com contests - friendly games among members, rewarding your participation with various goodies, from logo stuffs to gift certificates to maybe even special thingies in the forum (like picking your own title, rather than Keiki, Haumana, etc.).
So for Round One, I want to give away some HawaiiThreads.com T-shirts for keeping the talkstory coming, or for helping us grow our `ohana!
These 100-percent cotton Hanes tagless tees have the HawaiiThreads.com plumeria on the front, and our logo and "Let's talk story!" on the back. And these aren't the fancy shmancy ones in our cheesy Cafepress store (http://www.cafepress.com/hawaiithreads), either - these are sorta handmade by your HawaiiThreads.com host! Wear your geek-infused plumeria shirt with pride... and after three or four washes, your shirt may easily convert into a very nice dishrag!
(Okay, I don't think they'll fade that fast, but I've never done these inkjet iron ons before. Can't overpromise! They do look sharp, actually.)
I've got three shirts. So, how do you get one?
Be among the first to become a Luna (100 posts), or bring five new members into the `ohana, whichever comes first!
Of course, becoming a Luna by posting a dozen empty messages a day for a few days won't cut it. Post thoughtful things to help start some conversations! And note that this contest is for the main forums... sorry Jeepers and geocachers!
On bringing new members, each of the five need to introduce themselves (in Introductions (http://www.hawaiithreads.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2), of course) and post one other message somewhere. They can either mention you showed them the way, or just include your username in the referral field when they register.
Just drop me a line when you cross either of the above mileposts, and I'll get you your shirt! And if you don't win this time, don't worry... I've got other kinds of contests and prizes already planned.
