Whether your list is whimsical or weighty, what are the things for which you will be giving thanks this Thursday? Family and friends, fortune and fun, thoughts and things... stop and count your blessings, and share the things that make you most grateful.

That God has blessed me and my family with financial stability and good health...

and that my Norton anti virus hasn't been zapped yet by some malicious code somewhere out there in the internet.

Healthy children
My loving wife
Food on the table
A roof over our heads

When I think about it that way, it puts things into perspective.

Having just returned from my 30th high-school reunion in Iowa last week, I'm thankful that my life led me away from that particular town; that the only people I've kept in touch with since high-school are still the only ones I would have wanted to stay in touch with; and that my daughter still lives in Iowa (in a different town, thankfully), so I can actually have a GOOD reason to go back from time to time.

Good time for a bump here. I read the last few posts in "What pisses you off" and was reminded why I don't read that thread.

Of course we're all thankful for friends and family. May I challenge us all this year to look for other, less obvious things to be thankful about?

I am thankful that my rent has only gone up once in 8 years living where I live, and that the rent is more than reasonable. While my salary has not kept up with inflation, it's been a blessing that one cost of living that has been mostly stable is my rent.

I am thankful that at the present time we can fully support our children and ourselves and we have a good home and a decent car!
Plus our kids are happy and healthy.
That is a real blessing. :D

Ms. Aloha Nui...

That was beautiful and I would like to say the same thing also...except with out the plural son(s) as I only have one...and I truly am more than thankful for him.

I can't wait till he can do dishes! Then I will be really thankful! But In all seriousness... everyone who has kids should be thankful for them. Many people aren't able to even have them and they are what the future will rely upon.

I'm also thankful to the Moderators and the Admin of HT for keeping me in check as well as keeping HT an enjoyable place to visit.

Right now, I'm just thankful that my boss is in the hospital recovering after he got into a car accident. He said that his leg broke and also a few ribs, but he'll be out for a few days.

The weird thing, was that he sent me an email message while in the hospital, so I'll have to remember that if I go there one day.
