The median price for homes in Honolulu is now $495,000 and realtors expect that to increase to $529,000 by the end of 2005. Pretty amazing. But that's nothing compared to the prices on Maui where the median is higher than that. I think Craig had the right idea about moving out into the boonies of Kea'au. At least you have acreage and can build a new home. I'm sure what you can get for $495,000 is your basic lot with an older 3-bedroom house on it.
Up here, that kind of kala will get you a brand new house in a nice pricey neighborhood! :eek:
