Vote for Jasmine? Boy that sounds familiar.
FOX sure doesn't make it easy to get to the poll. It's in the middle-ish lower left box on the main page -- with "Poll," "Fox Fun" and "Idol Watch" tabs. There's an illustration here (http://www.allthatjas.net/vote.html). So far, 27,000+ votes, but Jasmine is in second place.
Despite the spammy-ness of this thread, I gave her a vote. Why the hell not?

I dunno. If it takes cheating for her to win, there's obviously a problem. I was gonna vote, but because others are double and triple voting I don't think I will now. I'd rather find out who wins it fairly.

I'd rather find out who wins it fairly. It's not like we're electing a senator or anything. American Idol is manufactured celebrity, no doubt about it. Voting more than once on a web poll is more sneaky than cheating. I mean, especially considering how when the Idol votes were "real," you had companies setting up redial-eriffic phone banks and hackers pointing legions of modems at the Fox vote numbers. If you're bored enough to tour a computer lab to send 30 votes instead of one, I say, have a blast.
Looks like Diana DeGarmo's got a strong lead, anyway.

Jasmine Trias' latest single entitled, "Flying Home" will be available this coming Feb. 27-April 3, 2005 @ Pizza Hut/Taco Bell, Hawaii. ;)
Here's its beautiful and inspirational lyrics:
"Flying Home" by Jasmine Trias
Amazing, I'm gazing across a sea of a thousand smiles,
Touching me tonight.
I'm feeling the real thing.
I'll wear my heart up along my sleeve.
Tonight I give all that I can give,
And tonight we live.
Can you see the special glow that's lighting up my eyes?
Tomorrow I'll be in the sky.
Flying home,
I'll be flying home.
To a paradise,
I can call my own.
To a warm embrace,
From dear hearts and friends.
Back to happy days,
I'll be flying home.
So wondrous, I love this,
To stage this song that I give to you.
It's such a dream come true,
To reach you, to touch you.
This magic moment I'm living for,
And in this world there is nothing more that I'd rather do.
But still I reminisce the soft words in my head,
Of memories that I can share everywhere.
When I come...
Flying home,
I'll be flying home.
To a paradise,
I can call my own.
To a warm embrace,
From dear hearts and friends.
Back to happy days,
I'll be flying home.
I'll be flying home.
I'll be flying home.
To a paradise,
I can call my own.
Light the tropic skies above,
With dear hearts and friends.
At the rainbow's end,
I'll be flying, I'll be flying home.
:) Hope you'll get a copy coz it's worth it... even i love to have one or more copies of it hehe lol :D

Oh OK thanks. I wondered if Jasmine went the "be my own label" route where she has the ability to market herself. Her single is available at Taco Bell and Papa Johns Pizza. At first I was "huh?" then I thought that it was a really creative way to get her music out to specific demographic group.

Join us in the Jazzified street team: http://streetteam.jasmine-trias.us
Our current Operation 400K's mission is to reach the 400,000 copies for jasmine's album and to be able to reach that we should all work one another. so we should start spreading the news and let's begin promoting her album...
Important Details:
- The album will be released in the US mainland on July 12, 2005.
- A music sampler from the album will be released for distribution in
the next few days.
- Pictures to be used for the flyers will be posted as well soon.
Here's what should get everyone excited:
- You will be given the chance to vote on the carrier single of that
album, so better sign in to allthatjas.net to make your voice be
heard.
- You will be given the chance to submit a design for the album cover.
There is no assurance that they will choose something from our
submitted designs, but who knows?
- You will be given the chance to choose a picture that might be used
for the albums cover.
The July 12 release date is only for the US mainland excluding Hawaii. Why is Hawaii excluded? The album will be released first in Hawaii, a few days ahead of the July 12 date. Only one album will be produced for Hawaii, US mainland and the Philippines. The album will be released last in the Philippines. A bonus track may be added to the Philippine release to compensate for being last... Everything is not sure yet, but that's where the releases stand as of this time
If you haven't listened to Jasmine's preview songs, please check them out here: http://jasminetrias.net/media

I'm all for a local girl getting some national props, but if that first song is any indication (and I haven't listened to anything else yet), this girl needs to get some decent songwriters behind her. I was mildly surprised by the quality of her voice on record--she actually hits some pretty good notes and her voice is good and clear--but man, what a forgettable song.
Just to be naughty, I wonder what would happen if I submitted a cover idea with Kelly Clarkson (her new album is surprisingly fresh, and she's hot, too) as the subject. :)

Wow it sure looks like Jasmine is experimenting. I heard the Pizza Hut one and it sounds more like a commercial for an airline. Then the recent samples... too much like the latest teen sensation Jojo. It sounds like someone with a typically good singing voice (not anything really unique) singing corny lyrics.
So what's the label she's hooked up with?

Jasmine Trias, the Filipino-American 3rd place finalist on last year's "American Idol," will have her self titled debut album in stores July 12, 2005. Her new CD introduces an edgier, rhythm and blues-based sound. From the single, “Excuses” (already #1 in the Philippines) to “Sexy Boy,” with its playful relaxed grooves. Jasmine Trias soothes her listeners into forgetting about the hustle surrounding their busy lives from the moment they hear her soulfully comforting voice.
Jasmine has quickly become a triple threat artist, expecting to play a singer and drummer in the film entitled "All Girl Band,” written by the Academy Award-winning Sherman Brothers son, Jeff Sherman. Richard and Robert Sherman’s works include "Mary Poppins," "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," "The Jungle Book" and "The Parent Trap." ClockWork Entertainment Executive Producers Debbie Hammond and Gary Greenberg have had success with acts like DREAM, TQ, Fantasia and Bone, and Thugs N Harmony.
Jasmine’s debut album is being distributed throughout the United States, the Philippines, and Japan by Universal Music and Aloha Music. It contains 14 songs produced and written by multi platinum industry leaders, like Diane Warren and Vincent Herbert, and a remake by Sean "P. Diddy" Combs.
You will be able to find Jasmine's tour schedule and places to buy her CD on her official fan site www.allthatjas.net or her official site www.jasminetrias.net. Jasmine posts her personal updates on www.myspace.com/jasmine_trias.

Continuing the trend Jimmy has, of making stronger ties to Hawaii, Jasmine has been recruited by Buffet now, and is slated to sing AND drum in his Coral Reefer band.

Ooh, I got a red mark for that! I consider that the highest compliment, when some anonymous coward with no sense of humor or perspective feels like he has to smite me. Hmm, wonder who it was ... I wonder ... hmm ...
Back on topic ... I don't care for Jasmine's music or voice, but I wish her well anyway. I hope she finds her own style and stops playing that poor excuse for what they call "R&B" these days. There are enough of those boring little tw*ts running around the airwaves these days. She seems like a nice kid.

Yea, I have to agree. Production is tight as it should be but the songs seemed like tracks like D. Warren and others couldn't pitch-up to other artists.
I'm also bummed that the promo started with a fast-food tie in so early in the game. It totally backfired it seems according to my younger sisters. Over branding and imaging in the wrong direction I think
But I do like her voice and I'm not a promo guy so there's probably a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for Jasmine.....I hope

Jasmine is making it big overseas in da Philippines too. She guested on many of the phil tv networks and she was part of a big concert in San Fran in Monster Park with other famous filipino singers and groups a few weeks ago. she has a lot more training to go technically as a singer but she has it in her. in da phils, singing contests are a major event and have brought out rags to riches stories like Regine Velasquez. :)

Love Jasmine. Stuck finger at Simon and took that challenge of "you had better hope that each household in Hawai'i has five phones to call in". But do us a favor--no need to come on to HT and advertise for her. Just make sure that her myspace page is current and stylin' so that the people who want to follow her can stop by, check on her scoops, and show her some love.

Joe, the thread got morphed into this larger, and more appropriate one. At the time I responded, it stood alone. Normally, I wouldn't spend time replying to "autobot" stuff, but this wasn't the only item posted by dotcom. Palolo Joe, cool it. I've let your cross-thread snark fly for a while now, and I'm done.
It's bad enough when you're chasing Kimo around to poke at every one of his posts, but as you said yourself, determining what's appropriate at HawaiiThreads.com is my job, not yours. Other members of the community are welcome to step forward to help guide a newbie in navigating our admittedly treacherous waters, and are even granted leeway for a frothing incomprehensible rant or two, but you're being an ass on purpose.
As I've said before, because you make articulate contributions to this site in other ways, I know you know better. Take a chill pill, stop taking the bait, or find another outlet for your frustrations.

PJ is definitely capable of making interesting and insightful contributions. Unfortunately the snarky replies, which involve more members than just Kimo, far outnumber the articulate ones. 'Ignore' rocks! Glad to see you take a stand, admin, but I'm guessing there's a larger issue involved.
