Your email account information may have been compromised (again!). The hackers shouldn't be able to actually access your PayPal account, but you might become the target of a phishing attack, if you happened to participate in an eBay survey recently. 
I don't use PayPal when I use eBay; I only use postal money orders because that way, if the deal goes sideways, I can sic the Postal Service on the seller for mail fraud. And if payment is lost, at least I can get a refund.
