If you have a chance to, please tune in to this Edgy Lee documentary (http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2005/Mar/13/il/il02a.html) about the kanaka maoli and their relationship to the 'aina. It'll be on KHON at 9 p.m. this coming Tuesday evening. I hope PBS picks it up for showing up here on the Mainland too.

Even non-Hawaiians living in the 'aina should have an understanding of how the kanaka maoli nurtured the land, so when they hear about things like the land sale last week on Moloka'i, they can understand and sympathize with the plight of the kanaka maoli, who believe they were given the land to take care of.

Well, that was absolutely beautiful. This latest production by Edgy Lee, I would recommend for each and every classroom in the islands for viewing and subsequent in-depth discussion.
It should be mandatory.

In fact islanders of all ages should see this great work.
