I have really enjoyed reading the forums so I decided to register yesterday. My husband is an Army retiree and we lived on Oahu in 1976-77 and again from 1985 to 1989. Oh how we both miss the Islands!! We haven't been able to afford a trip back but hope to eventually. Hawaii was my first home after my husband and I got married in 1976 and my oldest daughter was born there in 1977....Husband and I dream of living there someday. Doubt that will ever happen but it sure is a wonderful dream. At the very least we hope to visit again because we miss it so much....Hawaii is truly paradise....Aloha everyone!! :)

Aloha and welcome to the 'Threads! Hopefully reading some of the talkstory from the islands can help keep you warm up there. So far you were fortunate to be stationed here twice, it appears, and you've got a Hawaii-born keiki even. I'd say it's destiny that you'll make it back, again and again.
