So, THATS where they will buy their two hundred dollar Nikes!

*******
Lanikai and Kailua are changing, no doubt about it.

In the 60's and 70's... anyone you see, nodded, smiled and basically, showed the usual ohana friendliness as they walked by.
Now, it seems to be filled with scrunchy faced, overly intense joggers and shoppers wearing hyper determined, weaned-on-a-pickle expressions on their faces, who ignore you as ya go by.

On a related note,
Multinational corporate sport shoe chain store set to open very soon in Kailua.

Time was, when we would buy our 'stuff' from Coronet, Tinny Fischer, Holiday Mart, Wigwam...

By By, small town Hawaii. Buy Buy corporate amurrica...

My worst fear is that their gonna tear down Holiday Mart and build a Costcos, Sam's, or heaven forbid another WalMart there.

Did Kailua ever have a Kress store? Kaneohe had one (where Ross' is now)
