 Some idiot or idiots stole rare clams from the Aquarium over the weekend. What is this world coming to? This will probably start the Aquarium and other places that showcase items, plants and the like behind glass windows to protect them from itchy hands.
I have to wonder what the stealers wanted the clams for. To eat in Clam Soup or Ala King, add to their own collection of rare clams or sell to another collecting them.
Whatever the case may be, may their hands get sores big as Giant Opihis!

I have to wonder what the stealers wanted...
the steelers want what any football team wants;
consistent wins.
the Steelers are willing to trade up to get who they want.
the Steelers want to revolutionize their offense. So they should take a tight end. and trade up to get Miller and forget about Smith.
the Steelers want their playoff hopes in their first year at Heinz Field resting on Martin and Maddox.

Kimo,
Maybe the steelers going use the clams for their offensive line. The beginning of the game they can clamp on the legs of the defensive linemen (but they going get the flag for holding) as they pass. But towards the end of the game they going really be offensive because they going start to die without water.

Those clams look like the ones they eat on the current Survivor. How do you smuggle 7 clams out of a public aquarium? In your shorts? You would have to have an aquarium in your car ready to keep them alive ....this could be the crime of the year!

I tell you what, if the steelers smuggled the clams in their shorts, they are tougher than I think (or at least dumber)... Imagine the clam hunting for food in your shorts...OUCH!!!! I have to sit down now...

Yes but rumour has it that they got 30 clams for their heist. But even with such a profit, don't they know that they are just being shellfish?

Hmm. I credit the Bearded Moon Goddess, myself.
Seriously, though, good news (http://starbulletin.com/breaking/breaking.php?id=3381). 'Twas boneheaded to steal 'em in the first place, but the media exposure and a mix of fear and regret brought 'em back.

Are we sure that these are the same clams? It's like those alien abduction stories -- who knows what these clams were subjected to in the past week! Or maybe we're dealing with a group of Manchurian Clams, brainwashed and turned into killer bivalves.
Don't let any of 'em near the President.

Saw it on the news last night. The clams were returned. It was a half-baked (topic of zztype's photo contest) idea. I guess the culprits decided to return the clams and go to the store to buy valves like everyone else.

It has to be an inside job. In the first place there is personnel to watch if anyone trys to take something. Not to mention the amount of visitors. Then all of a sudden it turns up. With the theft, I would think they installed extra security within hours, video cameras and the like.
Somethings amiss and they're in deep blue oceanic kakas! Too bad the clams can't talk. Out of seven, one has died. RIP Clam! ;)

Ah. I see your point. ;)
You know, seems to me they could prevent future thefts if they just put a wire screen (2" square, maybe?) over the top of that tank. That would be a lot cheaper than moving the whole thing or building up the sides. It would still allow kids to see the critters that way.

Oh, yeah. How silly of me. State Govt.. Cream pies all in their faces this morning. hahahahahah :D
Still, the worried and concerned staff (highly paid) could have stake out the place for the culprits to return with the clams. I still insist it was an inside job.
