Yes. It feels exactly like a car crash. A cat launch is fun too. I used to do this a fair amount because I simply don't get airsick. But I'd get headaches from my helmet bouncing around inside the cockpit, like a clapper in a bell. Those unexpected snap rolls!
In the past five years my beard has gone completely grey. Thanks, Gannett.

I lived at CC for a couple years while I was in the senate. I used to hang out in that geeky office we had, full of young dems and republicans. :o
I liked it 'cause we had a nice view of the women of the ticket office :D

Yep, lots of estrogen at that office back in my day. And no, I'm not that short oompa-ish Asian girl with brown hair. Everytime people hear CC INFO they think I'm Jamie, and I'm not!

Ha! That picture was taken in a T-33, which is older than I am! (The egress training was pretty simple — "Jump out, run like hell.")
Up there in Ontario, see if you can find someone to take you up in an aerobatic. It'll cost a bit.
Speed is relative next to maneuverability. Even a Pitts Special or something can give you the feel of serious Gs and getting thrown around the sky. And the view is way better than from the back seat of a jet!

My son & I take annual Christmas pictures. I had cancer when he was 5 and again when he was 7 years old, and there were no pictures of me. I thought that my son wasn't going to remember his mom. So now it's an annual tradition to take at least one picture together. Here's a past picture:

Aloha! I'm going to be joining you all in 6 weeks. My husband's being transferred to Oahu for a year to do some work for the KamKam school district. He's out there right now for training and scoping out houses for us. I'm 27, he's 30, and we've both lived in Texas all our lives. (He has an accent, but I don't....or at least that's what I've been told!) We live in Dallas, which is where I grew up. He moved here from Houston about 4 years ago.
I'm excited to move, but really nervous, too. It'll be a huge change. I came out to visit him once in May when he was setting up the project, and of course I loved it out there. But we're having to leave behind our 2 dogs for two months until they can come out without having to be quarantined. (His company didn't give us enough notice for us to get all the stuff done in time) And I don't know anybody out there, so...

BTW, Leo...been to the Hayao Miyazaki museum? We saw it featured on one of the local Japanese channels recently. I would love to go there; I bet I would miss a lot of the little "easter eggs" they have hidden in the museum due to my lack of cultural understanding. The show explained that you need reservations placed years in advance to be able to go.

We bought our tickets about 3 months in advance, if I recall correctly, through our contact at JTB. This was in June of 2004, when we spent three weeks in Japan for the AF's birthday. It certainly helped that she was fluent in Japanese, and familiar with much of Miyazaki-San's work.
I recall that they also had an "exchange" display about Pixar, with early sketches and material for their (at that time) upcoming film, "The Incredibles."

Hmmmm...I don't think there are any decent ones of me with my hubby AND son...I will probably post 2 pics, both from our trip there last month. The first one will be of me with our son Jimmy (21), at Waimea Canyon; the 2nd of me with my husband Frank, at Cheeseburger in Paradise on Kalakaua Blvd., taken the same day we renewed our vows for our 25th anniversary, which is next month. FUN TIMES ALL AROUND!! :)

MyopicJoe- I was really bored when I took that pic. When I first cut it i was super excited- It was a sassy crop, took only a few minutes to blow dry and my head weighed a lot less ^_^ But i soon started to miss my hair! Luckily for me, it grows quickly.:p

OMG...that's who I meant. Where in the heck did I get Glen Campbell?!!! Now I'm embarrassed to admit that, when I saw Kaonohi's photo, my first thought was a commercial I worked on with Rogers...but Glen Campbell fell outta my fingertips! My 2nd thought was the 1985 wheelchair marathon when a contestant was injured in front of my house. I sat with him 'til help arrived and marveled at how much he looked like Kris Kristopherson! Still...Glen Campbell's name made it to HT.

Time for some Lei's KEIKI pics!!! :)
The first picture my older two boys stepped in for the job as this exhibit seemed to be lacking something... :D
The other picture is a recent picture of my youngest. He went to drink some water and missed his mouth completely, which amused him. He's got a "boo-boo" on his head from jumping off the couch and bumping his head on a table. *sigh*
Considering their Daddy is the self-proclaimed "whitest man on earth", I think my genetics put in a pretty good fight. :p
After you open that first one, click on it another time to make it bigger, as it looks a bit odd otherwise.

I remember a cousin of mine having one when I was about 5 (the late fifties); she was quite a bit older than me. You can't see it in the photo very well, but I had taken some pink ribbon and made an "L" in script writing across the front of the blouse (a la "LaVerne & Shirley"). That skirt was an Ebay find, and certainly NOT an original--just an inexpensive knock-off, but a LOT of fun, and something that will last for years!! The shoes were a pair of white sneakers from the dollar store, and then I invested in a wide-tipped Sharpie, and colored in the middle parts to make them look like saddle shoes. Those sunglasses, however, belonged to my Mom when I was little (probably about the time I remember the poodle skirt...late 50s), and I still have them to this day! Talk about FUNKY!! HA! ;)

Nah, just kidding.
But you might be able to make a few extra buck$ acting as a stand-in for him sometimes, if he's still making movies.
TutuSue might be able to advise you on whom to contact, but she's probably distracted right now, what with Glen Campbell's song "Wichita Lineman" running through her head. :D
