Yes, you can, but due to legal issues you'll have to make at least one stop in another country. Depending on the line, this might mean Vancouver (Canada), Ensenada (Mexico), or Fanning Island (Kiribati).

wondering...is it possible to take a cruise ship to hawaii from the states, stay in hawaii five days than cruise back to states?A cruise ship that makes one big circle around O`ahu would qualify as a cruise to the states, y'know. Or did you mean the former Commonwealth of Independent States in Russia?

But yes, there are Hawaii-U.S. Mainland cruises... but they have quirks, as Glen notes. I'm pretty sure they're usually seasonal, repositioning cruises (one cruise, one way, twice a year), too. For the experience you're looking for, you'd probably want a cruise from the mainland U.S. (via Canada or Mexico) to Hawaii, stay for five days, then fly home.
