Today on the bus, I've seen a few people I know who had on dark blue HPD shirts on the bus, with BDU pants. As a former Police Explorer, I know that you can buy the BDU, but I don't know about the HPD shirt. The shirt said HPD on the front left side (if you look down wearing the shirt), with the badge; and on the back stay the full spelling of HPD.

I wish I had my camera phone with me so that I could take pics, but I didn't.

And I remember seeing a booth at the Aloha Stadium swamp meet that sold those things (and also sold patches and related items) but is it okay for a civilian to wear shirts with HPD/HFD/FBI etc on them? I no like get in trouble like these two (http://starbulletin.com/2003/08/08/news/story10.html) (yeah, they robbed a house, but just wearing it might make people think otherwise.)

I would think so Adrian. Don't they have or used to have a C&C Shoppe at Ala Moana. They used to sell t-shirts, sweat shirts, key chains, etc. I bought a hat saying Narcotics and wore it with dark glasses...scared the kakas out of some of the people in Chinatown.

This past trip to Vegas, I bought a neat t-shirt that says in BIG BLACK BOLD LETTERING, "A T F" Underneath in small print, "alcohol, firearms, f*&%^$# a*$hole." Everytime I wear it, people look then SMILE when they hit the bottom! ;)

As long you're not impersonating an officer, verbally and present yourself to be. Why would they sell it otherwise?

Only a few designs that officers actually wear... and those are the ones you can't get in stores. SHOPO sells t-shirts themselves that say HPD on them. It's just like those window decals that people put on their cars.

But even when they get t-shirt on, the cop should have a badge visible.

That's right Palolo Joe! Thanks for reminder. Also, sometimes they wear it on their belts, always in plain view.
