I've been to the Philippines once (visited Baguio, Manila, and Puerto Galera).. thinking of going again this Winter..

Thinking of.. Makati in Manila (skipping Ermita/Malate this time around!), Boracay, Kalibo, Iloilo, Bacolod, Dumaguete, Siquijor, Bohol, Cebu, and Malapascua Island.

If for some strange reason, I still had excessive time, I'd probably check out northern Luzon like Vigan and Banaue (but not as high on the priority list).

Everyone always says Palawan is a must.. all the island hopping in Visayas sounds more fun this time coming up.

Anywhere else I'm missing?

Who else has been to the Philippines or has some recommendations.. and why?

Batac, Ilocos Norte (where my father was born)
It's an interesting province for the late President Ferdinand Marcos also lived there in his youth. Near Lawag, & Bacarra (home of the most balikbayans).
*balikbayan means someone from there who lives abroad visiting*

Tagum, Davao Del Norte It's a beautiful place. Gold mining, lush forests and a cross road for the various provinces to connect in. Magnificant and Deluxe Hotels with casinos are nearby!

I've visited many places there but these were my favorites. My late husband was Former Bantam Weight Champion of The Phillipines 1974!

Northern Luzon is one region I'd like to check out more.. Sagada and Banaue in particular.

I did see Baguio.. it rained the entire time I was there! Which meant I didn't do much of any outdoor things which is part of the reason to go up there I believe!
