Was Kahalabrah booted off or...

I noticed that Kahalabrah's account is closed. Was Kahalabrah booted off? Is this a first? Or did he feel underrepresented as the only Asian Male that noticed that Asian Mailes were not properly represented? Just curious.

I assumed, since he sent a farewell message, that he chose to close his account. But I realize what happens when you assume...

I hope he wasn't booted off, no matter how offensive he was (and he did seem to set the bar at a new level); I still consider myself a newbie on HT, yet I find that a chilling prospect.

Who knows? Maybe he'll come back with a new name. Or a new attitude (wishful thinking.)

na I don't think he got the boot.he simply got a warning a few days ago after going off on a admin he thought was just another poster

Kahalabrah sent a public farewell message (http://www.hawaiithreads.com/showthread.php?t=6481), as well as a standalone message expressing his intent to never return (with considerably more colorful language). Based on that, I closed his account.

I apparently have misspoken when I said that no one has ever been banned, however. We have a handful of accounts with that status, but almost all were relentless spammers, or pranksters that posted obscene material.

That said, I'd be open to requests to reactivate accounts, and certainly controls are fairly limited - meaning someone could return under a different handle. I can only hope such a fresh start is made constructively, rather than to revive old conflicts.
