Why do you love Hawaii?

After reading the "what pisses you off" thread and responding to it, I thought I'd start this "why do you love Hawaii?" thread. I don't know if anyone's done one yet, but here goes...

Maybe we can each name 3 things...

As for me, why do I love Hawaii?

1. Good times with local food and local people
2. Being able to drive to the windward side and see the Ko`olau Mountains
3. The Aloha Spirit (it's still around!...not everywhere, but you can find it!)

1) The fact that it doesn't rain for more than a few minutes at a time.
2) We can basically crunch what a haole can say in 5 minutes into a few words
3) Da Aloha Spirit!
4) If you want to get away from it all, you can go to a beach, rain forest, desert, or throw some snow and be back for lunch.

Why do I love Hawai‘i?

1. Most of my family and friends are here.
2. I feel like I belong here, more so than in any other place I've been.
3. It's a beautiful land, with gorgeous weather, and friendly people.

3. Diversity of Culture (and my ability to "blend in" for the first time in my life!)
4. Friendliness of the people in general on the islands
5. Excellent fusion cuisine/seafood
6. My boyfriend/our kitties love it here
