How to turn a floppy disk into a bomb.

XDXD bye bye computer and possibly everything surrounding it/house

1 3.5" floppy disk
A few matchbooks with RED or WHITE strike powder ONLY!! Blue will not work!!
Nail polish overcoat
small fingernail file

Alright, it is very easy to make these. The first step is to file all the match powder off all the matches and collect a decent amount of it in a pile.

Second, open up the floppy disk and remove the two cloth guards (if you’ve never opened a floppy disk before, you’ll know when you open it).

Take the nail polish and liberally apply it to the magnetic disk. As you’re applying the nail polish, take the powder and sprinkle it all around on the polish. The polish will bunch up on the disk, hence why you should apply liberally. Put the disk back together (getting the spring back in place can be a bitch!). Label it whatever, and give it to your victim telling them there is something they should see, or just break into their house and put it in the comp yourself. When they go to access "my computer", the computer will attempt to read the disk, causing a spark, and thus... an explosion.

The fact that you get a release out of Grand Theft Auto made my hair stand on edge, but I figured, give the kid a break. And here you are with a lovely recipe.

By the way we used to call those matches "Cowboy Matches" where you didn't need a flint sheet to ignite them.

But like Mel said a lot of today's computers are making the floppy an external affair so it won't do much harm to the computer.

Speaking of floppies and ancient media...if anyone's interested there's an old Radio Shack TRS-80 computer sitting at the Salvation Army's "Sally Shop" in Hilo in the old Kress Building. This thing has been sitting on that plyboard shelf for over a week now with a $2.50 price tag on it.

If anyone's interested it's there. If you think it's worth anything and you want me to pick it up, let me know.

I thought If I bought it, I'd gut it out and build a decent P4 into it's casing and just freak the hell out of everyone.

Adrian, I've been on the sidelines watching and reading all along. I know you have been busy, help take care of patients, go to school, etc. You are showing some charteristics of having a pshycological breakdown! Anyone would. considering what what you have to do. Nobody is Super Human.

Please make it a priority to get evaluated by a specialist asap!

Yes Adrian...we do all care about you and your explosive device :D . But before you go rigging a 3-1/2" floppy you may want to check to see if that long lost LOTUS 1-2-3 spreadsheet application is on that disk.

Yes, I'm the quiet one in class, but host the class on an online message board, then I'll probably have the largest post count.

Plus, a floppy disk at school costs $2, so why would I want to waste $2 on a bomb?
I have a too pure mind to actually carry out these (when I see people hurt by disasters, I cry) so I'm just letting people know that there are ways your computer can physically blow up, so better watch out who has acess to your computer (and to anyone else who will require my help in the future, I don't carry any floppy disks with me).

The sad thing is, I don't think it would even work. The most that will probably happen is that you'll start a small fire in the floppy enclosure. You definitely wouldn't be able to make it explode. C'mon Adrian, if you want to make a bomb, make it right.

With all the software controlled monitors out there I'm sure if you ran a program to change the refresh rate over and over again it could cause the monitor to overheat and do something.
